Yesterday, October 30, marked the start of the BLAST Premier: World Final 2024 group stage, as the top 8 teams in the world began their journey toward the championship title. If you missed yesterday's matchday, we have prepared a brief overview of all the results for you.
Natus Vincere vs Astralis
Kicking off the day were two legendary names, NaVi and Astralis. Hungry for victory, the The Danish team led by new captain cadiaN showed outstanding preparation and managed to take down NaVi, who currently hold the top spot in the HLTV rankings. On Nuke, Astralis dominated with a score of 13:6. On NaVi’s pick, Mirage, Astralis didn’t falter either, keeping NaVi from imposing their own style and securing another 13:6 victory. The Danes controlled the match from start to finish, sealing a 2:0 series win.
FaZe Clan vs MOUZ
The second game saw two closely matched teams, FaZe and MOUZ, facing off, with their head-to-head record standing at 25-25 before today. FaZe picked Inferno, MOUZ chose Nuke, and Dust2 was set as the decider. Both teams delivered top-tier CS from the start, trading rounds with fierce determination. MOUZ barely edged out FaZe on Inferno, winning in overtime (16:13). On Nuke, the intensity continued with both teams fighting for every round, but MOUZ’s strategic wins in force rounds ultimately secured them a victory (13:11).
G2 Esports vs Team Liquid
The third match was equally thrilling. Liquid picked Ancient, G2 chose Inferno, and Mirage was set as the decider. The first map was a shocker, with Liquid sweeping G2 in a 13:0 victory on Ancient, demonstrating exceptional preparation and individual skill. Despite this, G2 remained resilient, bouncing back on Inferno (13:6) and Mirage (13:6) to close out the series and send Liquid to the lower bracket.
Vitality vs Team Spirit
The closing match of Day 1 featured Vitality and Team Spirit, two dangerous opponents for any team in the tournament. Fresh off their Dacha Belgrade win, Team Spirit entered with confidence, and the match was filled with back-and-forth action as neither team yielded an inch. In the final round on Vitality’s pick, where the French team aimed to push the game to overtime, Spirit managed to secure the second map with a close score of 13:11 on Mirage, ending the series 2:0 and sending Vitality to the lower bracket.
