Dota 2 Fall 2023 Transfers and Rumors. Part 2 – Eastern Dota
Yuriy SheremetThe big autumn Dota 2 reshuffle is gaining momentum. There are a lot of rumors on the net about what is happening in the teams.
This reshuffle will be especially acute for teams from China and Southeast Asia. Representatives of the Asian region had a very mediocre past season, and The International 2022 almost ended in a total failure.
Now teams from there, and especially China, have a long way to form new combat teams. There is already the first news about monumental changes, and therefore we decided to promote the topic of reshuffles in Chinese and not only DotA.
Faith_bian left PSG.LGD roster – who will replace the star offlaner?
PSG.LGD can be called the main donor of rumors and conjectures this season. The eternally strong and dominant Chinese ended the 2021/2022 season extremely poorly: for the first time in three years, PSG.LGD did not enter the TOP-3 of The International, which clearly does not correspond to their status.
The result is clearly depressing, but not at all shocking. It's about the approach of the players to the tournament.
Even before the start of The International 2022, it became known that the star offlaner PSG.LGD, TI 6 champion Faith_bian will retire after the tournament. He is on vacation in his thoughts, while playing with rivals hungry for victories is unlikely to succeed, and PSG.LGD confirmed this.
Faith_bian went on vacation, but this did not provoke the collapse of the team. Too large and significant tag to sink into oblivion, and therefore the question arises - who will sit in the place of Faith_bian?
The answer is already on the web. It is rumored that Chalice, who previously played for the team at The International 2018 and The International 2019, will return to PSG.LGD.
Quite a logical decision: muscle memory comes into play, Chalice has not yet finished what he started and Aegis was still not in the hands of the players. Returning to PSG.LGD Chalice can repeat the experience of Ame, who also left, but triumphantly returned. What is true, it will have to be done in a completely different composition.
Rumors: PSG.LGD mainstay will go on vacation, Chalice will play with ex-EHOME players
The departure of PSG.LGD from The International at the TOP-6 stage gave rise to a lot of speculation and conjectures why PSG.LGD were not the same. The theory of player burnout sounded more often than other reasons, and it looks logical.
You cannot always be at the peak, as the fans of the Chinese giant wished for. The team consistently kept the bar of quality, but do not forget that they are all people and they are characterized by fatigue.
Rumors are actively circulating on the net that the entire base of PSG.LGD will go on a six-month vacation, at least. The next question is who will replace them?
Most likely, the replacement will be the EHOME roster, which will go under the wing of PSG.LGD for some time. For the Chinese scene, player swaps and even full-fledged rosters are not a precedent, and therefore it is easy to believe in it.
A new turn for Chalice and a chance for the young EHOME roster to gain a foothold in the top club. Sounds like a potential Cinderella story, but hey, what about RNG?
Royal Never Give Up is in for a big change? The team has already left 3 player, the fourth at a low start
While we are wooing Chalice in PSG.LGD, the fate of Royal Never Give Up remains unclear. It is clear that the “kings” will be reformatted, but it is not clear how long the processes will drag on.
Now RNG are losing at least three players: Somnus`M has retired, and xNova and Ghost are looking for a new team. Throw in the potential departure of Chalice, and the rest is the remaining kaka, which is unlikely to be used as a cornerstone when creating a new team.
Estimate the departure of kaka and get vacancies in the top organization. Who fills them is a big question.
You can get Setsu from the inactive and try to put together a combat-ready squad, you can ask fy, who is rumored to be planning to continue his career, to assemble a standing five under his leadership. There is also Xtreme Gaming, which did not live up to great expectations last season and are also at risk. Naturally, you can completely collapse the Dota 2 division.
The last option, however radical it would not be, looks like a real one. The only thing that will be a shame for is a place in the top division of the Chinese DPC .
Ori retired. Who will be the midlaner for Aster?
Not the most expected news came from the camp of Team Aster. The TOP-4 of The International 2022 lost their mid-laner - Ori ended his career.
The fact that Aster will remain afloat is a fact, but it is not at all clear who will replace the departed mid player. Somnus`M would easily fit in with Monet, able to share the burden of a tascher with the star carry of the Chinese club, but he quit DotA. As an option - Xtreme division.
The deathly silence from the side of Xtreme drags on, but the team will definitely “shake”. I can not believe that the composition will remain untouched after such an inglorious finale of the past season. The conditional Paparazzi will definitely not weaken Aster.
Trouble in T1 - will the South Asian TOP remain in Dota 2?
China has always been interesting in the prospect of big reshuffles, but now it is worth taking a look at the neighboring region. After all, there is also a lot of interesting things going on there, and the most juicy one is T1.
After a disastrous 2022 season, the club is looking for solutions to an urgent problem. It looks something like this - in fact, no one is left in the team.
Here the situation is similar to Royal Never Give Up: nominally, now Topson and Ana are in the roster, but in fact, both will soon leave the roster. The former is very likely to leave to play in Europe, where he will complement the composition of Liquid or any other team to match the appetite of the Finn, and Anatan will most likely leave Dota again, perhaps completely.
The project of the Dota division, which was created in 2019 and received a new round of development in 2020, is on the verge of collapse. You can try to get out of it, for example, by signing the recently retired Boom Skem, enlisting the support of the Malaysians xNova and Ghost, signing a potential mix of Nightfall, gpk and other “geniuses” of Eastern European DotA and trying to storm the main arenas of the next season.
What chance does the above have to grow from the category of “fantasy” into a more objective plane? I think it's big, but I wouldn't want to lose such a big player.
