All you want to know about The International 11: schedule, prize pool, participants
Maksym ShylovThe regional qualifiers for The International 2022 have come to an end, on the outcome of which all participants of the Dota 2 World Championship were determined. In this guide for viewers of The International 11, you will find out about the schedule, the prize pool, and the list of all participants in the upcoming tournament.
The format
The World Championship will be held in 2 stages. In the group stage, 20 teams will be divided into 2 groups. They will play in the Single Round-Robin format. 4 best clubs from each group will advance to the upper bracket of the playoff stage. The teams to place 5th-8th will proceed to the loser’s bracket. The participants to hold the last 2 places in groups will be eliminated from the tournament. The match format — bo2. This year, the PGL studio will organize the group stage, which is also an innovation for The International tournament series.
The final stage of The International 2022 will be played in a Double-Elimination bracket. 8 teams will begin in the upper bracket and 8 participants will start their path in the lower one. The first matches of the loser’s bracket will be hosted in a bo1 format. The rest of the matches, except for the grand final, will be organized in a bo3 series. The format of the grand final — bo5.
The schedule
The tournament will be carried out on October 15-30 this year. The group stage is scheduled on October 15-18. After this, the teams will have a one-day break.
The playoff stage will be divided into two parts this year due to the Justin Bieber concert in Singapore. At first, the teams will be playing on October 20-23, after which they will face a five-day pause due to the above-mentioned concert. Matches at The International 11 will resume on October 29 and be over on October 30.
The venue
The International 2022 is coming to the city-state of Singapore. For the first time in the Dota 2 World Championship history, Valve will host the final stage of the tournament in 2 locations. All matches, except for the last 2 days, will take place at Suntec Singapore, which includes up to 10,000 viewers. The matches on the final days will be organized at Singapore Indoor Stadium. The capacity of this arena is up to 12,000 fans.

12 teams have made it to the main event of the year due to the sum of DPC points earned during the gaming season 2022. 6 participants have received slots thanks to their victory in the regional qualifiers.

The last 2 participants of The International 2022 will be determined by the outcome of the Last Chance Qualifier, which will also take place in Singapore. The prize pool
Valve has traditionally given $1,600,000 for the tournament. The rest of the money is collected with the help of Battle Pass 2022. At the moment of writing, the prizes are equal to $11,773,101, which is lower than it was at The International 9 and The International 10 for the same amount of time.
Recall that The International 2022 will be hosted in the LAN format on October 15-30 this year. Suntec Singapore and Singapore Indoor Stadium will be a venue in Singapore. 20 best teams from all over the world will be fighting for the biggest prize pool of the year, the sum of which will be determined by the sales of Battle Pass 2022.
