So, let's dive in and find your perfect match. Explore the definitive Genshin Impact tier list for Version 5.3, featuring the best characters to elevate your team. Dive into rankings from S-tier to D-tier, with detailed stats and explanations of top heroes for this patch.

Genshin Impact tier list for version 5.3

As a general rule, these are legendaries, but don't be surprised to find epic characters, too, especially in constellations!

It's always a great idea to check the character's position on the Genshin Impact tier list before you decide whether or not it's worth spending resources to knock them out and level up. This will help you figure out whether they're a good fit for the specific account or the player's needs, and it can also help you decide if they're the perfect choice!

We've based them on a few things: their highest potential, related to current game mechanics, the number of units they can take, the amount you'll have to spend on them, and how easy they are to use.

Just a heads-up: we've included some epic heroes whose role changes at C6 in two spots in the list: C0 and C6. If you find a character mentioned only at C6, it simply means they need a full constellation for the best results. When you see two constants, the first is your go-to hero, while the second is perfect for a full-fledged game. Have fun!

At a glance, as Version 5.3 hits, here's our current Genshin Impact tier list:

We've divided the Genshin Impact characters into tiers, and we're excited to share our thoughts on each of them.

Genshin Impact Tierlist: S-tier characters listed

Genshin Impact Tierlist

If you're looking for the best characters in the game, look no further than the incredible S-tier characters. They're super effective when it comes to damage output and they're a huge help to the whole party!

Every character in the game has something special to bring to the table, and that's what makes it so much fun! From Raiden Shogun's Elemental Burst to Ganyu's charged attack, all these characters are the best at what they do. One of the best things about them all is how good they are at triggering or benefiting from elemental reactions.

Here's a list of the top S-tier characters in Genshin Impact, in alphabetical order, as of version 5.3:

Genshin Impact Tierlist: A-tier characters listed

Name
Stats
Element
Pros
Alhaitham
Five StarsLevel 1HP: 1039ATK: 24.49DEF: 60.85
Dendro
If you're looking for a 5-Star to pull for, Alhaitham is a great choice! He's an on-field main DPS and a really desirable character. His dendro application is so handy! Not only can it react with other elements, but it can also help him to achieve some pretty impressive DPS numbers when he's just going about his normal attacks. He's a great addition to your team if you don't already have a good Dendro applier.Just keep in mind that he's a bit of a pressure cooker if you don't want the constant challenge of trying to maintain all three of his Chiseled-Light Mirrors for his maximum DPS potential.
Arlecchino
Five StarsLevel 1HP: 1020ATK: 26.63DEF: 59.53
Pyro
Even though her kit might seem a bit complex, Arlecchino is actually a very straightforward DPS character to main. Don't worry if that seems surprising — we've all been there and done that! All you gotta do is apply her skill, switch to another character for at least five seconds, and then come back to Arlecchino. Charge attack the enemy or enemies you marked with her skill, and just keep attacking normally until her Bond of Life disappears or her skill recharges. Easy peasy! That's all there is to it! Just a friendly heads-up: to make sure you can enjoy all those awesome damage numbers, Arlecchino can't be healed on the field by anybody but herself (using her Burst).
Bennet
Four StarsLevel 1HP: 1039ATK: 16DEF: 65
Pyro
Bennett is an absolute delight to play as a four-star character! He's great at providing support for all kinds of parties. This character is really great at buffing damage and healing with his Elemental Burst!
Fischl
Four StarsLevel 1HP: 770ATK: 20DEF: 50
Electro
In Genshin Impact, the value of a unit like Uny lies in how useful they are to helping other characters or to triggering elemental combinations, even without having to engage in combat themselves. Fischl really comes into her own when you need to mix up elements with some steady electro damage—and her role got even more exciting when they introduced the Dendro element in 3.0. She's now one of the top sub-DPS supports in the game!
Furina
Five StarsLevel 1HP: 1192ATK: 18.99DEF: 54.15
Hydro
Furina is a fantastic support in Genshin Impact who can really boost your entire party's damage through her Burst! She also has this great Skill that adds a little Hydro to the mix. Just keep an eye on her health, and you'll be all set! If you're looking to really make the most of Furina's incredible support abilities, it's probably a good idea to run a healer alongside her and not use her healing skill.
Ganyu
Five StarsLevel 1HP: 763ATK: 26DEF: 49
Cryo
Ganyu is such a great character! Not only does she apply Cryo really well, which is a strong element to use, but she also has amazing damage potential thanks to her kit. I absolutely love Ganyu's ability to hit multiple enemies with a single charged attack. In my view, she is one of the best characters in the game!
Hu Tao
Five StarsLevel 1HP: 1211ATK: 8DEF: 68
Pyro
I'm so excited to tell you all about Hu Tao! She's going to be the star of the show in this current patch, so keep your eyes peeled for her! She'll be a great addition to any party. She's basically a huge, powerful force of nature that can take out enemies with one sweep!
Kaedehara Kazuha
Five StarsLevel 1HP: 1039ATK: 23DEF: 63
Anemo
Kazuha is an absolutely amazing five-star unity! He's got so many useful tricks up his sleeve and can really make a difference to your party. I've found that he's even more effective than Venti when it comes to grouping together enemies, making the most of how Anemo interacts with other elements, and he's still there to give your whole party a boost!
Kamisato Ayaka
Five StarsLevel 1HP: 1001ATK: 27DEF: 61
Cryo
Ayaka has a great ability to interact with other elements, and she really shines when using her Elemental Burst to take down enemies! Her value really shines when you think about how much range she can cover in her burst.
Neuvillette
Five StarsLevel 1HP: 1144ATK: 16.22DEF: 44.87
Hydro
Neuvillette is an amazing Hydro DPS! He has these awesome charged attacks where he shoots out a stream of water that can react with other Elements. He's absolutely brilliant in Dendro and Electro reaction teams, but he's great in other teams too! He's a fantastic on-field DPS no matter what team you put him on.
Nahida
Five StarsLevel 1HP: 807ATK: 23.27DEF: 49.06
Dendro
I think we can all agree that Nahida is absolutely amazing in Genshin Impact! She's by far the best Dendro character we've seen so far. She can play both a main DPS and support sub DPS role, which is great because that means she can help create and set off Dendro core reactions. And the best thing is, she works perfectly well with Hydro or Electro team members! And as an extra treat, she has one of the best exploration talents in the whole game!
Raiden Shogun
Five StarsLevel 1HP: 1005ATK: 26DEF: 61
Electro
Shogun is an amazingly versatile unity who works really well with all kinds of parties! Shogun is an amazing character! She can deal a ton of damage, and her Elemental Burst is really cool. It not only does damage, but it also helps out other party members by producing elemental particles.
Venti
Five StarsLevel 1HP: 820ATK: 20DEF: 52
Anemo
Venti is an amazing character who really shines as a S-Tier. He's super useful and adds so much value to the group! Venti's got a couple of really useful skills. One of them lets you group enemies together and deal more damage to them when his skills come into contact with other elements. That makes him a great addition to any party! On top of that, his passive lets him help your party with elemental particles!
Xiangling
Four StarsLevel 1HP: 912ATK: 19DEF: 56
Pyro
This is one of the most well-known characters in Genshin Impact not only because she is present in every advertisement piece shared. Thanks to her Elemental Burst, Xialing is an amazing character to induce elemental reactions off-field.
Xilonen
Five StarsLevel 1HP: 966ATK: 21.41DEF: 72.39
Geo
Xilonen is one of my absolute favorite support characters in Genshin. Her Source Sample ability is just so useful! It decreases the Elemental Resistance of nearby opponents, and the Element depends on your party, which I think makes it even more fun. Just make sure you have Xilonen in her Nightsoul's Blessing state often to take advantage of this huge buff — you'll be glad you did!
Xingqiu
Four StarsLevel 1HP: 857ATK: 17DEF: 64
Hydro
Xingqiu is one of my all-time favorite supports! She's so versatile and works great with different character combinations. He's got some pretty amazing skills! He not only helps your party by protecting them from damage, but also has an awesome Elemental Burst that transforms any character into a fast Hydro-applier. He even helps by healing a bit too! Dendro is just so good! He's even better than he was before, and he's a great choice for Bloom and Hyperbloom teams. He's one of the best, if not the best, for using Hydro.
Yel an
Five StarsLevel 1HP: 1125ATK: 19DEF: 43
Hydro
If you're looking for a great damage dealer, Yelan is an excellent choice! She's perfect for parties with quickly changing characters, and will definitely bring some serious firepower to the table. Her Elemental Burst is perfect for applying Hydro! She might not be the best at triggering elemental reactions with units like Pyro or Cryo, but her talents are still super valuable! Now that Dendro has arrived, Yelan is more valuable than ever, especially in Bloom and Hyperbloom teams.
Zhongli
Five StarsLevel 1HP: 1144ATK: 20DEF: 57
Geo
I totally understand how tricky it can be to work with geo characters. It's really quite difficult to get your head around how their element functions. But the great thing is, Zhongli is so incredibly powerful that this doesn't matter at all! I'm absolutely convinced that he is a valuable addition to the team, and his shield makes him an invaluable member of our group.
Citlali
Five Stars Level 1 HP: 905 ATK: 10 DEF: 59
Cryo
A Cryo character that most players have been waiting for. A character capable of dealing massive damage with the right build, but the most valuable aspect of Citlali is her shield, which rivals the legendary Zhongli in strength and cooldown. With excellent passive abilities, she fits perfectly into almost any Hydro-Pyro team composition. Therefore, we strongly recommend considering Citlali as one of your future mains.
Genshin Impact Tierlist

Even though Genshin Impact characters in the A tier are still totally amazing, their role is a little bit less defined than it could be.

They're still pretty amazing, but they're not quite as complete as the S-tier characters. Some of that might be because of their design, which makes them rely on specific conditions.

These lovely characters work great with each other and with the superstars in the S-tier! They're absolutely fantastic as units! They've got this incredible ability to trigger elemental reactions and benefit from them, which is just amazing!

I've put together a list of the best characters in Genshin Impact, in alphabetical order as of version 5.3. Here they are!

Genshin Impact Tierlist: B-tier characters listed

Name
Stats
Element
Pros
Arataki Itto
Five StarsLevel 1HP: 1001ATK: 18DEF: 75
Geo
Let me tell you about Arataki Itto! He's a strong character who can be your main damage dealer. He does a lot of damage with his attacks and charged attacks, so you'll definitely want him on your side! The only thing is, Itto works best in a party with more Geo characters, so that's something to keep in mind!
Beidou
Four StarsLevel 1HP: 1094ATK: 19DEF: 54
Electro
I just love Beidou, don't you? She's one of my absolute favorites, and I think she deserves to be in the top tier. She's amazing at dealing damage and works so well with other characters! As an electric character, Beidou is a total star! She fits perfectly in some of the best and most powerful party compositions you can find in Genshin Impact.
Clorinde
Five StarsLevel 1HP: 1009ATK: 26.25DEF: 61.03
Electro
If you're looking for a main DPS to trigger Electro reactions with, look no further than the amazing Clorinde! She's perfect for manipulating her Bond of Life to different effects (like healing herself or increasing her damage). Clorinde is great at causing Electro damage with her normal attack. Just press the Skill button once and you're all set! She also benefits from quickly swapping to her after another party member triggers an Electro reaction. This is thanks to an attack boost from one of her Passive Skills. Clorinde is a pretty valuable DPS. The great thing about her is that you really don't need a healer with her, because of her awesome self-healing abilities and her quick playstyle.
Cyno
Five StarsLevel 1HP: 972ATK: 24.76DEF: 66.89
Electro
Cyno is just so much fun to play! You can really rack up the damage with his normal attack, and he's got a lot of potential. If you want to really make the most out of his damage numbers, it's best to have Dendro or Hydro team members. While it can be a bit limiting at first, it's really effective if you do have them. Pairing Cyno with good Energy Recharge is also a great idea!
Diluc
Five StarsLevel 1HP: 1011ATK: 26DEF: 61
Pyro
Diluc is a total badass with an incredible damage potential and a powerful claymore. Diluc has this amazing Elemental Burst that allows him to apply pyro to enemies really well, which makes him your go-to damage dealer!
Eula
Five StarsLevel 1HP: 1030ATK: 27DEF: 58
Cryo
Eula is an absolute delight to play as your main damage character, with the best attack damage in the game so far. She'll make your experience in the game a truly memorable one! She's also fantastic for triggering Cryo reactions.
Jean
Five StarsLevel 1HP: 770ATK: 20DEF: 50
Anemo
Jean's kit was lovingly crafted with the intention of helping her heal and control crowds, which can be a total blast for certain parts of the game. She may not be the best in any of those roles, but she works really well, and she's also a great Anemo character!
Keqing
Five StarsLevel 1HP: 1020ATK: 25DEF: 62
Electro
We're lucky to have Keqing in our roaster! She's our only sword electro user, which makes her pretty special. Even though her abilities used to be a little weak in triggering element reactions, things really changed for the better in version 3.0 with the introduction of the Dendro element! Keqing essentially got a huge upgrade thanks to how her Electro application works with Dendro.
Sangonomiya Kokomi
Five StarsLevel 1HP: 1049ATK: 18DEF: 51
Hydro
Of all the amazing healers in Genshin Impact, Kokomi is definitely one of my favorites! She'd be a great addition to any party in need of hydro support! Kokomi's skills blend seamlessly with many other characters, making her a perfect fit for a variety of teams. She's absolutely amazing as a healer in Dendro parties!.
Lyney
Five StarsLevel 1HP: 858ATK: 24.76DEF: 41.88
Pyro
If you're lucky enough to have Lyney on your team, especially when Bennett's there with you, then you're in for a real treat! He is, without a doubt, one of the best DPS characters you could ask for in Genshin Impact. Lyney is great in AOE situations, too! His Elemental Skill and some helpful Burst damage make him a perfect choice for your team. He might not use bow charge attacks as much as some other players, but he makes up for it with his AOE skills! He's got an easy-to-understand playstyle, so I think he'd be a great choice if you're looking for a Pyro DPS.
Mona
Five StarsLevel 1HP: 810ATK: 22DEF: 51
Hydro
Mona is such a valuable member of the party, thanks to her ability to apply Hydro constantly. Her contributions towards inflicting the Freeze, Vaporize, and Electro-Charge are really invaluable! She really adds a lot of value to the party, especially since some of these elemental reactions are pretty strong!
Mualani
Five StarsLevel 1HP: 1182ATK: 14.5DEF: 44.39
Hydro
Mualani is an excellent hydro attacker, but she has a couple of areas that could use some improvement. There are already so many amazing hydro attackers out there, and she can be a little tricky to play, but I think she has a lot to offer. She has such a special play style! You can even surf a shark to get around the overworld. But it all comes down to whether you like her style or not. It's not really about big damage numbers, which are easy to achieve!
Navia
Five StarsLevel 1HP: 985ATK: 27.37DEF: 61.74
Geo
Navia really is a one-of-a-kind Geo DPS! With her two Skill charges, she can dish out a ton of damage by collecting Crystallize Shards. And the best part is that the more Shards she has, the more damage her lovely little Gunbrella can deal after using her awesome Elemental Skill. This is great news for those of you who love to play with teams that combine Hydro, Pyro, Electro, and Cryo with Geo. It's been proven once again that Navia shines brightest in these kinds of teams! This makes it really easy for you to team Navia up with lots of other characters! She can slot into some of the best pre-made teams in Genshin Impact with no problem.
Nilou
Five StarsLevel 1HP: 1182ATK: 17.88DEF: 56.72
Hydro
Nilou is such a unique character! To get the most out of her, you've got to pair her up with Dendro and Hydro. They'll give her the support and DPS potential she needs to shine! She's great at dealing damage, but she's not the best fit for every team. Most of her best team comps need S-tier characters. I would highly recommend doing a lot of research before bringing her on to your team, as it'll be worth it in the end!
Shenhe
Five StarsLevel 1HP: 1011ATK: 24DEF: 65
Cryo
Even without carrying a party by herself, Shenhe's abilities are so valuable to the team. She can really make a great contribution. Her Elemental Burst is really useful for creating an area of effect that helps to weaken enemy Resistance to both Physical and Cryo damage. Shenhe is absolutely the perfect addition to any Cryo-based party. Her powers are amazing, and she really helps to make the whole team stronger!
Tartaglia
Five StarsLevel 1HP: 1020ATK: 23DEF: 63
Hydro
Tartaglia is a great addition to your party, as he can dish out loads of damage as a hybrid hydro main damage dealer! He does so much damage! But he might not quite be able to keep up with Ayato.
Tighnari
Five StarsLevel 1HP: 845ATK: 20.85DEF: 49.06
Dendro
Tighnari's got a pretty unique playstyle going on. He likes to use charged attacks with his bow to get the most DPS potential out of his kit, and it really shows! I really like Tighnari's play style. He's got a low Elemental Burst cost, and he can apply a ton of Dendro to the field. He's definitely a solid DPS main, which is great. The only slight downside is that his single-target focus means he doesn't have as much AOE DPS potential as he might otherwise have. But still, overall, I think he's a great character to play.
Wanderer (AKA Scaramouche)
Five StarsLevel 1HP: 791ATK: 25.51DEF: 47.27
Anemo
Guess what! Scaramouche can fly! Not only is he a fantastic exploration team member, but he's got this amazing ability to hover above enemies, letting you unleash his powerful normal attacks while he takes no damage. He's a powerful DPS character! You'll love pairing him with Pyro and Cryo characters, which will enhance his damage even further. And don't forget that Electro and Hydro characters will extend his flight time! He's an absolute gem to have on your team! He's great for so many different situations!
Wriothesley
Five StarsLevel 1HP: 1058ATK: 24.41DEF: 59.41
Cryo
Wriothesley is a one-of-a-kind on-field DPS. He's got some pretty amazing abilities! He uses Cryo normal attacks to really make the most of his kit, and he can even consume and regrow his own HP while performing differently depending on how much HP he has. Pretty cool, right? Wriothesley is an absolute whiz at putting out damage, particularly in Reverse Melt and Freeze teams. The only tricky bit is managing his HP. But hey, we all have our quirks and he sure is a delight to play with! He's still an amazing DPS, and he'd be a great addition to your teams if you don't mind having an on-field DPS in your rotations.
Xianyun
Five StarsLevel 1HP: 810ATK: 26.07DEF: 44.57
Anemo
Xianyun is an amazing character who can turn so many others into incredible DPS'ers! She can also enhance those who already have plunging buffs, like Xiao and Diluc. And she's also a great team-wide healer and Swirler for your sub-DPS's, which makes her a perfect fit for lots of teams. She's particularly good at buffing plunging damage, which makes her an invaluable member of many teams.
Xiao
Five StarsLevel 1HP: 991ATK: 27DEF: 62
Anemo
I'm so excited to tell you all about the amazing Xiao. He's an A-Tier character, and it's easy to see why. He's incredibly strong and can take down any opponent with ease. Bringing support characters along to help Xiao use his amazing Elemental Burst will really help you achieve some impressive numbers!
Yae Miko
Five StarsLevel 1HP: 807ATK: 26DEF: 44
Electro
Yae Miko is a wonderful character, with one or two minor imperfections. For instance, her Elemental Burst requires a lot of energy and, in the thick of action, she can sometimes be exposed. On the other hand, she's an amazing addition to any team, especially when it comes to dealing electro damage. She's always there to support her teammates and help them out in any way she can!
Yaoyao
Four StarsLevel 1HP: 1030ATK: 17.81DEF: 62.95
Dendro
Yaoyao is the only Dendro healer, so it would be great if you could consider her for Bloom, Quicken, and Burgeon teams! Her Burst is pretty good at healing, but it's Yaoyao's Elemental Skill that really shines when it comes to healing. Yaoyao would be a great choice if you're looking for someone to add some Dendro while healing. She's perfect for the job, and you'll be able to free up a team slot by combining Dendro and healing.
Ororon
Four Stars Level 1 HP:
775 ATK: 20 DEF:
Electro
A four-star Electro character that absolutely deserves your attention. A DPS-support who fits perfectly into any team where Fischl was previously used. High damage, a great catalyst, and an excellent battery. One of the strongest four-star characters at the moment.
Genshin Impact Tierlist

B-tier characters are the ones who have some potential but maybe aren't the absolute best at what they do. They're still great, don't get me wrong!

Some of these characters are absolutely fantastic at supporting and healing! They're just waiting for you to get your A-tier characters up to speed. And don't forget about those second-option scenarios and compositions! They can be a huge help.

Here's a helpful list of all the B-tier Genshin Impact characters in alphabetical order, as seen in version 5.3.

Genshin Impact Tierlist: C-tier characters listed

Name
Stats
Element
Pros
Albedo
Five StarsLevel 1HP: 1030ATK: 20DEF: 68
Geo
It's so wonderful to see everyone working together like this. It's great to have you as a second damage dealer, my friend. Even when he's not on the battlefield, you can still use his Elemental Skill! And don't forget about his Elemental Burst, which is great for damage too! Keep up the great work! Just remember to switch to Albedo when his cooldowns are back or when it's time to use Burst. You've got this!
Baizhu
Five StarsLevel 1HP: 1039ATK: 14.99DEF: 38.89
Dendro
Baizhu is a great choice for a team mate! He can provide Dendro application while healing for the whole team. However, other Dendro characters do better in AOE situations, so he might be a better fit for single target enemies. This might be a bit of a double-edged sword. On the one hand, it can help you against tough Spiral Abyss bosses; on the other hand, it might make it a bit more challenging to clear floors with lots of enemies. Either way, I'm here to support you! Yaoyao is probably a better pick than him in most Dendro and healing situations, and she's a 4-Star!
Barbara
Four StarsLevel 1HP: 821ATK: 13DEF: 56
Hydro
I think it's so great that Barbara's kit is all about healing. She's such a good fit for the role, even as a free unit. She has the wonderful ability to heal party members simply by staying in the field and attacking enemies while using her Elemental Skill or with her Elemental Burst. Isn't that just so lovely? She's just great at healing the entire party, with her Burst restoring a lot of health. She's the ideal choice for a healer!
Charlotte
Four StarsLevel 1HP: 903ATK: 14.51DEF: 45.78
Cryo
Charlotte is a wonderful healer who can bring your whole party back to full health with her Burst, but be sure you have enough energy to spare for her, she's a real energy guzzler! If you can manage her energy needs, Charlotte's a great pick! She's especially good in teams where you need to keep everyone healthy with healing and cryo.
Chiori
Five StarsLevel 1HP: 890ATK: 25.14DEF: 74.19
Geo
I've found that Chiori is a great option for those looking for a reliable Geo support for their mono Geo teams. She's a great choice in most cases, especially if you're running a Geo character who can make constructs. This really gives her that extra oomph in terms of sub-DPS damage off field. Chiori is also a really easy character to get to grips with! All you have to do is use her Burst and Skill when you can, before moving on to the next thing in your rotation. Her one drawback is that she's best used with other Geo characters. If you've built Geo characters, then she's absolutely perfect for you! But if you haven't, she's not going to be the best choice for you, I'm afraid.
Collei
Four StarsLevel 1HP: 821ATK: 16.74DEF: 50.36
Dendro
If you're looking for a Dendro sub-DPS support character, Collei is a great choice! Her AOE Dendro attacks stay active even when she's off-field, giving you the flexibility to pair her with other elements like Electro and Hydro to take advantage of the Bloom and Quicken elemental reactions. However, just keep in mind that she does have a slightly longer Elemental Skill cooldown time. The good news is that you can unlock her C4 Constellation to really take full advantage of Collei's sub DPS support capabilities!
Diona
Four StarsLevel 1HP: 802ATK: 18DEF: 50
Cryo
Diona is a wonderful addition to any party! She can be a great support as a Cryo. Diona's got a few tricks up her sleeve! Not only does she have a shield and can heal with her Elemental Burst, but she can act as a great battery of elemental particles for stronger Cryo units that work as main damage dealers. She's a great addition to any party!
Emilie
Five StarsLevel 1HP: 1056ATK: 26.07DEF: 56.84
Dendro
Emilie is absolutely amazing at increasing burning damage (when Pyro meets Dendro)! However, here's the tricky part: burning is actually the worst reaction for Dendro. So, while Emilie's a total rock star, aiming for burning isn't the best idea because it's not the strongest. If you love playing as a Dendro and Pyro team, Emilie is your best friend in the game!
Faruzan
Four StarsLevel 1HP: 802ATK: 16.47DEF: 52.65
Anemo
Faruzan is there for her friends Scaramouch and Xiao, helping them out with their Anemo Resistance and providing Energy Particles. Since she really shines when she's in a Constellation, and there just aren't that many Anemo DPS characters, she sometimes falls just a little in the best character rankings.
Gaming
Four StarsLevel 1HP: 957ATK: 25.29DEF: 58.94
Pyro
Poor Gaming! He's another 4-Star character suffering from C6 syndrome. He is a great plunging attacker at C0 when he's got a good team of buffers and supports around him. But it's his Constellation 6 unlock that really takes Gaming to the next level! That Critical Hit buff is huge!.
Gorou
Four StarsLevel 1HP: 802ATK: 15DEF: 54
Geo
The lovely Gorou is an absolute must-have on your team when you're trying out a geo formation! He's really useful for characters like the amazing Arataki Itto. Even so, he's great for helping to mitigate some damage if you don't have another geo character on the team.
Heizou
Four StarsLevel 1HP: 894ATK: 18.88DEF: 57.34
Anemo
Heizou is an amazing main and sub DPS support character because he can trigger Swirl like nobody's business and has some pretty awesome crowd control abilities. However, his Elemental Skill does have a long cooldown period, so it's really up to your team. If you can find yourself a helpful friend like Xiangling or Fischl, then you'll be able to take full advantage of his amazing Swirl for maximum DPS potential!
Kachina
Four StarsLevel 1HP: 989ATK: 18.16DEF: 66.44
Geo
Kachina is a fantastic Geo support! Not only is she super capable, she also has some hidden DPS potential. She'd be a perfect addition to any Geo team, unless you have a 5-Star Geo support who performs better. If Geo teams were a little more diverse, we would definitely put Kachina higher on our list! If you're a Geo character main and don't have a 5-Star support like Chiori or Xilonen, we highly, highly recommend building Kachina! She's an excellent choice and will make your team shine.
Kaveh
Four StarsLevel 1HP: 1003ATK: 19.59DEF: 62.95
Dendro
If you're on the lookout for an affordable Dendro applicator with some DPS potential, then Kaveh is an excellent choice. He'll be sure to come through for you! Kaveh is an excellent choice for a Dendro DPS, especially since he helps you clear content more than most other Dendro units. Even though his kit might not be as impressive as some other 4-Star Element units, Kaveh is still a valuable addition to any team, especially Hyperbloom teams! Just a friendly heads-up: other Dendro units might be able to do what he does better.
Klee
Five StarsLevel 1HP: 801ATK: 24DEF: 48
Pyro
Let me introduce you to the wonderful Klee, a truly adorable character who can deal a lot of damage with her bombs. She's a great addition to any team! Klee is an absolute powerhouse! Her damage is amazing, but her kit works in a way that makes it tricky for her to fit in different parties. It would be great to see her get more opportunities to shine!
Kujou Sara
Four StarsLevel 1HP: 802ATK: 16DEF: 53
Electro
Kujou Sara is a fantastic addition to the team, boosting the damage of other party members. However, she has so much more to offer. Players have to invest a lot to equip her properly. It's totally worth it! She's such a versatile character! She really shines alongside other electro characters.
Kuki Shinobu
Four StarsLevel 1HP: 1030ATK: 18DEF: 63
Electro
Kuki Shinobu is a wonderful electro character, and would be great in compositions that could really benefit from some extra electro support! Her Elemental Burst is an area-of-effect attack that can be a great help to the main damage dealer! The lovely Kuki got a bit of a boost in the 3.0 update with the arrival of the Dendro element! This makes her a much stronger healer and sub DPS support when teamed up with Dendro characters.
Layla
Four StarsLevel 1HP: 930ATK: 18.16DEF: 54.94
Cryo
I think we can all agree that Layla is a great cryo shield and an excellent cryo applier. She's a solid choice for any team, but if I had to pick one thing that could use improvement, it would just be that there are other characters who excel in this area. On top of all that, her Cryo shield has a 100% uptime as long as it doesn't break! So she'd be a wonderful addition to any team that needs some protection while also applying Cryo. She's also great at protecting you from Cryo enemies!
Lynette
Four StarsLevel 1HP: 1039ATK: 19.41DEF: 59.69
Anemo
I just love Lynette in Genshin Impact! She's great with all the Elemental types because she can combine with these elements while off-field to give your main DPS a boost. And the best part is that once you unlock her third constellation, you can even transform Lynette into a DPS character all on her own! Most people will probably find Lynette a great Anemo choice for their party. While she might not be the absolute best option if you have other characters like Kazuha or Sucrose, she still has plenty to offer!
Qiqi
Five StarsLevel 1HP: 963ATK: 22DEF: 72
Cryo
While Qiqi is such a wonderful healer, she doesn't contribute much else to the party. But that just means she can focus on what she does best! On the other hand, she uses her amazing Cryo in the area around her with her awesome Element Burst! Qiqi might be the perfect fit for your squad! She has a special way of healing and applying Cryo that could be just what you're looking for.
Sucrose
Four StarsLevel 1HP: 775ATK: 14DEF: 59
Anemo
Sucrose's a great choice! She's got great support skills, and she can group enemies with her talents and produce elemental particles. Since she's an Anemo character, she gets along with all the elements!
Yanfei
Four StarsLevel 1HP: 784ATK: 20DEF: 49
Pyro
Yanfei is an absolutely amazing four-star main damage dealer with an extremely easy-to-follow kit! On the downside, she doesn't bring any type of utility to the rest of the party. So it's really important to keep her in the field if you're using Yanfei in your arty!
Ga Ming
Four Stars Level 1 HP: 957 ATK: 25 DEF: 59
Pyro
An excellent character with tons of damage, ready to become your main DPS despite being a four-star. Not very demanding in terms of gear and fits well into many team compositions, especially with Bennett and Furina. A cost-effective and dynamic DPS – that’s all about Ga Ming, so we highly recommend having him on your roster.
Genshin Impact Tierlist

In C tier, we've placed some characters that are limited in some way. They're not easy to work with, and the effort involved doesn't seem worth the reward.

Some of them are really strong, and a few are super useful in certain situations. On the other hand, it's probably best not to use these characters in place of those from the higher tiers — it just wouldn't be fair!

But hey, there's always the chance to dive into all their amazing strengths and create awesome parties around them.

Here's a helpful list of all the amazing C-tier characters in Genshin Impact, arranged in alphabetical order, as of version 5.3:

Genshin Impact Tierlist: D-tier characters listed

Name
Stats
Element
Pros
Candace
Four StarsLevel 1HP: 912ATK: 17.81DEF: 57.22
Cryo
Candace is an amazing Hydro applicator who can buff her party's normal attacks and infuse their attacks with Hydro. However, not every character is a good fit for infusion. She's got a lot of skills when it comes to Hydro support, but that does mean she can't be the best at everything. Other characters are great at things she is just decent at, which is totally okay! She's still got a lot to offer the team.
Chongyun
Four StarsLevel 1HP: 1003ATK: 19DEF: 54
Cryo
Chongyun is a great claymore wielder who does a wonderful job as the main damage dealer! He's great with certain weapons because his Elemental Skill gives them a nice boost. He does have one little downside to his kit, though. He gives other characters' attacks a Cryo infusion, which makes it a bit tricky to react to them with other elements.
Dori
Four StarsLevel 1HP: 1039ATK: 18.7DEF: 60.66
Electro
As a hybrid Electro sub DPS healer, Dori can be a great addition to your team! Not only can she replace an Electro sub DPS, but she can also step in to fill the role of a regular healer. This frees up space for someone with a different skill set, like a better Electro sub DPS or healer. Having a diverse team with complementary abilities is the best!
Freminet
Four StarsLevel 1HP: 1012ATK: 21.37DEF: 59.4
Cryo
Freminet is pretty interesting because he has a combo of Cryo and Physical damage attacks. But I feel like his damage is a little underwhelming compared to other Cryo units. Unfortunately, Freminet doesn't have quite the same impact as some other units, particularly when it comes to Physical damage, and he isn't as strong as Eula, either. This means that he isn't quite as powerful as other units in terms of DPS, and he isn't the most effective at offering support. You can slot him into Hyperbloom teams as a unique last slot, and he can still be a great addition to any team. He might not be the ideal pick for a character's best teams, but he has so much to offer in other ways! But hey, if you love his kit, he can definitely work!
Kaeya
Four StarsLevel 1HP: 976ATK: 19DEF: 66
Cryo
Kaeya is an amazing character! Even though he's a free character in Genshin Impact, he's still super strong and an excellent choice for any party. I just love how his kit allows some interesting combinations with other characters. Especially the ones that trigger some elemental reactions such as Freeze, due to his Elemental Burst – so cool! Kaeya's Elemental Skill also produces a good amount of elemental particles, which I think you'll really enjoy!
Kirara
Four StarsLevel 1HP: 1021ATK: 18.7DEF: 45.78
Dendro
Kirara is a fantastic shield-sitter, especially when it comes to defending against those pesky Dendro attacks! Whether it's your Blooms or Nilou's special cores, she's got your back. She's great for climbing overworlds and has her uses, but unfortunately, there are far better Dendro applicators and DPS characters out there. No shame in that though! She's got her own unique set of skills. She's absolutely amazing in a Quicken or Nilou team! She's also a great shield for those of you looking for something decent to use. However, there aren't many other uses for Kirara.
Mika
Four StarsLevel 1HP: 1049ATK: 18.7DEF: 59.8
Cryo
Mika is such a sweetie, but he does have one unfortunate quirk: he suffers from needs-his-C6 syndrome. It's a shame, but the whole point of him is to be a physical damage buffer, yet his most needed buff is locked behind his last constellation. It's such a shame that other limitations mean he can't be used to full effect against multiple enemies to make the most of his physical damage buffing. It's such a shame that he's not a must-play with physical attackers.
Ningguang
Four StarsLevel 1HP: 821ATK: 18DEF: 48
Geo
Ningguang's kit is really cool! She can deal a ton of damage just by focusing on her Charged Attacks, which is pretty awesome. In a formation based on Geo characters, she can be a real asset! Not only can she work as the main damage dealer, she's also great as support, thanks to her Elemental Skill which increases Geo damage.
Noelle
Four StarsLevel 1HP: 1012ATK: 16DEF: 67
Geo
I love starting with Noelle! She does a lot of damage and is a great addition to any team. Her kit is great for dealing with a lot of content, but it can be tough to keep her in the party once you've got other characters.
Razor
Four StarsLevel 1HP: 1003ATK: 20DEF: 63
Electro
Razor is all about hitting hard, and boy, does he hit hard. He's got some pretty awesome skills that not only let him cause a lot of damage, but also keep it constant. Pretty cool, right? This character is a bit of a lone wolf, and doesn't really have much to offer the other party members, bless him!
Sayu
Four StarsLevel 1HP: 994ATK: 20DEF: 62
Anemo
Oh my, this Anemo character is quite the one-of-a-kind, isn't he? Oh my, Sayu has a special Elemental Skill that sets her apart from all the others! She rolls around and damages her enemies, while healing her party members. How wonderful is that? It's just so fun to use and really helpful for exploration! Having Sayu on your team makes the game so much more interesting!
Sigewinne
Five StarsLevel 1HP: 1039ATK: 14.99DEF: 38.89
Hydro
Sigewinne is a great choice for teams that use the Bond of Life mechanic. She's especially good at healing, so she'll be a valuable addition to your team! If you're looking for the best teams, there are other healers out there who can offer you better support or sub DPS abilities. So, while it's always nice to have Sigewinne on your team, it's really not a necessity if you're aiming for the best of the best!
Sethos
Four StarsLevel 1HP: 821ATK: 19.05DEF: 46.92
Electro
Sethos is a great choice if you're looking for a main DPS role. He's perfect for that! You can also use him as an Electro battery to generate particles for the party. He's great for helping out other Electro members! He's got two different playstyles (normal attacks or charged attacks), which is pretty interesting! But charging his second level arrow makes him a tad awkward to play sometimes. While Sethos might take a little more work to play than some other Electro supports and DPS characters, he's still got his place on your team! He's perfect for those occasions where you need a character to trigger reactions – just bear in mind his awkward playstyle and damage limitations, and you'll be golden!
Thoma
Four StarsLevel 1HP: 866ATK: 17DEF: 63
Pyro
If you're on the hunt for a pyro support, Thoma might be just what you're looking for. He's your new best friend! He's a shield-wearing pal who'll make your attacks burst with pyro magic. Just a heads-up! If you're thinking of playing Thoma, there's a bit of a catch: If you want to use this character for dealing damage, you'll probably have to give up on using him as a shield. Just thought you'd want to know!
Traveler
Five StarsLevel 1HP: 912ATK: 18DEF: 57
AnemoGeoElectroDendro
It's totally up to you whether you want to change the traveler's element. It's always nice to have a little variety! But, if you're not sure whether you need one, it's probably best to stick with the one you've got. After all, you've got to love them! And if you're playing as a Dendro character, it's probably a good idea to stick with what you know. I know this can be tricky, but it's important to remember that when changing elements, you won't gain the same skill level up as you would if you were to level up a skill given by that element. They might not be the strongest characters, but they're still pretty awesome! And with the new Dendro Traveler in 3.0, you can team them up with other characters and have some really fun reactions!
Xinyan
Four StarsLevel 1HP: 939ATK: 21DEF: 67
Pyro
Xinyan is a physical damage dealer, which is pretty cool! Even though she causes a considerable amount of damage, she doesn't apply pyro, which makes her a bit different from the others. She's a great tank, which makes her super helpful when she's teamed up with other awesome characters!
Yoimiya
Five StarsLevel 1HP: 791ATK: 25DEF: 48
Pyro
The world-famous firework maker is a character who is so strong that her strength can sometimes be a bit overwhelming! The great thing about Yoimiya's kit is that it's all about showcasing her normal attack! As a bow user, she can only hit one target at a time. Even though they're really strong, it's a shame she can't hit multiple targets. Even her awesome Elemental Burst is single target, which makes it a bit tricky for her to be the main damage-dealing character in a group.
Yun Jin
Four StarsLevel 1HP: 894ATK: 16DEF: 62
Geo
Yun Jin is a support geo character whose concept is pretty basic: she has a shield and she also buffs normal attacks. She's a great addition to the team, but we could do with a bit more variety in her abilities! She's a great support character, but there are other options out there that are easier to use and will work better with your team.
Genshin Impact Tierlist

We've got a few characters at the end of this group that have some weaknesses that can make it tricky to invest your time and money into them.

Of course, there are still some cases where they can be a viable choice, depending on the party. There are always ways to use them! It just takes a little creativity to find a way around their problem.

Here's the list of the D tier characters from Genshin Impact, in alphabetical order, as of version 5.3.

Now that you've discovered which characters stand out the most in Genshin Impact, the fun can really begin: it's time to start building your dream team! We just want to mention that the lists we've put together are based on our own opinions of the game's roster.

Name
Stats
Element
Pros
Amber
Four StarsLevel 1HP: 793ATK: 19DEF: 50
Pyro
Amber might not be the strongest among the free characters you can win in Genshin Impact, but that doesn't mean she isn't great! It's a real shame that her damage potential is drastically decreased by the bow that she uses, and her Elemental Skill and Elemental Burst don't really add much value to the party either. If you're short on Pyro characters, Amber is there to help!
Aloy
Five StarsLevel 1HP: 848ATK: 18DEF: 53
Cryo
I wouldn't necessarily recommend Aloy as a Cryo user, especially if you're trying to find the best option for that role. She's great at dealing damage, and she can really make a impact on the enemies around her! The only thing is, her skills only work on her and make her stay in the field for way too long. It would be great if she could find a way to switch things up! Poor Aloy has one more challenge to deal with — she doesn't have a constellation.
Deyha
Five StarsLevel 1HP: 1220ATK: 20.67DEF: 48.88
Pyro
I know Dehya can be a tricky character to get the hang of, especially when it comes to making her work as a viable option to clear the normal tough content, let alone the Spiral Abyss. Having an amazing team, the perfect Artifacts and weapon, as well as a solid grasp of her playstyle is essential to make her shine. But don't worry, with a little practice and dedication, you'll get the hang of it and she'll become a valuable asset in your team. Dehya might not be the best Pyro character for you. Some other Pyro characters can do more damage and have more Elemental Reactions than Dehya does, so you might want to consider them over her. This is why Dehya is currently on our tier list as a 5-Star, but could be better.
Lisa
Four StarsLevel 1HP: 802ATK: 19DEF: 48
Electro
Lisa is an absolute powerhouse when it comes to damage. She's got the skills to dish out some serious damage! The only drawback is that her kit takes a while to build up to a point where she can do some real damage. Lisa has so much potential! She can even decrease her enemies' defence. But she does take a little while to get to the best version of herself – so it's not the quickest. But, don't fret, as there are plenty of other great options in the form of electro characters!
