LoL Skarner Rework VGU Details – Release Date, Skills, Main Splash & Skins

A big day is approaching for League of Legends enthusiasts, particularly those in the Jungle position. Riot Games is preparing to release the reworked Skarner, on which they have been working for many months.

The game developers have already presented the main details regarding the updated champion, and we are pleased to convey this to you. In this article, you will find everything you need to know about the Skarner rework: release date, VGU, skills, splashes, and skills.

Reworked Skarner Release Date

Arguably, the main question regarding the Reworked Skarner will be the date of its release in League of Legends, and we have the answer. The Reworked Skarner will be released first on PBE servers on March 19, with the official release on live servers of the League occurring on April 3, along with the patch 14.7.

Skarner Rework Abilities

The Crystal Vanguard has received not only a release date and visual changes to make him more relevant for 2024 but also a completely revamped set of abilities. Now, this jungler (or perhaps not quite anymore) can boast a new set of skills:

• Passive - Quaking: Skarner inflicts Quaking with his Attacks, Shattered Earth, Upheaval, and Impale. Accumulating max Quaking stacks causes enemies to suffer percentage max health magic damage over time;
• (Q1) - Shattered Earth: Tear a boulder from the ground, empowering Skarner's Attacks and enabling it to be hurled as a potent projectile;
• (Q2) - Upheaval: Summon a boulder from the earth, enhancing Skarner's Attacks and enabling it to be hurled as a formidable projectile;
• (W) - Seismic Bastion: Skarner gains a shield and emits a shockwave that damages enemies, reinforcing his shield upon striking Champions;
• (E) - Ixtal’s Impact: Skarner charges, traversing terrain. Upon colliding with a Champion or monster, he can slam them into a wall, inflicting damage and stunning them;
• (R) - Impale: Skarner employs his tails to suppress enemy champions. Impales up to three enemy champions, damaging and suppressing them. Skarner gains bonus movement speed for a short time and carries them with him until the end of the effect.

With these updates, Skarner will gain even more tools for prolonged fights and become more resilient in skirmishes. Additionally, he will have a serious arsenal of control, as only his ultimate ability, Impale (R), can be applied to 3 enemy champions!

Rework Skarner Visuals & Skins

The Crystal Vanguard remains fundamentally the same intelligent scorpion-like creature, but the visual component of his new appearance changes significantly. If previously he had one tail, now he has three. Also striking is the more powerful armor, which corresponds to his new abilities that provide the champion with a shield.

In addition to the base model of Skarner, his skins also undergo changes. It is unknown whether all skins for him will be reworked, but some of them have already received updated splash arts.

Rework Skarner Price in LoL

The only thing that remains unchanged for the reworked Skarner is his price in the game. As before, the champion will cost 880 RP or 6300 blue essence.
