Seven Dominates Deadlock Meta with 93% Win Rate: Is He Overpowered?

The meta for Valve's Deadlock is beginning to take shape, and one character, in particular, stands out with a staggering 93% win rate among closed beta players.
As reported by PC Gamer, a new website called Tracklock has recently launched, allowing players to track ongoing trends for Deadlock characters. The site offers insights into each character's pick rate, total win percentage, and the number of matches they've played. It also provides the ability to analyze data over specific date ranges, giving players a deeper understanding of each character's performance.
Currently, one character is dominating both the pick rate and win rate: Seven. With a pick rate of 93.23% and a win rate of 58.93% across a total of 796,781 matches, Seven is a force to be reckoned with in almost every match, often ending up on the winning team.
While Deadlock remains in early access, Seven's success seems to stem from his ability to inflict damage on multiple enemies simultaneously with his electric-based area-of-effect attacks. His Storm Cloud ability, for instance, creates a cloud that deals 124 damage per second to all enemies within its radius. Meanwhile, Power Surge allows his attacks to bounce between enemies for 10 seconds, further amplifying his damage output.

The Deadlock subreddit has also taken notice of Seven's overwhelming pick and win rates. One popular theory is that Seven's high pick rate is due to his "low skill ceiling" and his significant impact on the game. This sentiment resonates with many players, as evidenced by the community's comments.
"He's my crutch," one player admits, while another argues that Seven would be "a good character even without his," noting that his damage output is "busted." A self-proclaimed Seven main also chimed in, praising his effectiveness in base fights, his exceptional jungle clear for fast farming, and the recent buff to his stun ability, which now "hits like crazy while being point and click."
As Deadlock continues to evolve, it will be interesting to see if Valve makes any adjustments to Seven or if he will remain the dominant force in the game.
