Format of The International 2025
The tournament begins with the Road to The International stage (September 4–7), where 16 teams compete in five rounds under the Swiss system. Each series is played in a best-of-three (Bo3) format. Teams that secure four wins advance directly to the playoffs, while those who suffer four losses are eliminated. The remaining 10 teams enter a qualifying round, where higher-ranked teams face lower-ranked ones, and five winners move on to the main stage (playoffs). The playoffs (September 11–14) feature a double-elimination bracket with upper and lower brackets. All matches are played in a Bo3 format, except for the grand final, which is a best-of-five (Bo5).
