Ihor MatusESL announced the list of teams that received direct invitations to the closed qualifiers for ESL Challenger Melbourne 2022. In Europe, Movistar Riders, Entropiq, forZe and Heet were the lucky ones. In North America, Evil Geniuses and ATK received invitations. Of the Asian teams, TYLOO and IHC were named, and in Oceania, Vertex and Encore were invited.

Closed qualifiers will be held from 12 to 14 July. In each of the regions, one invite to the ESL Challenger Melbourne 2022 will be played. The remaining places in the championship will go to those who enter the top 4 best teams in the world according to the ESL rating. The LAN final will be held in Melbourne, Australia from September 2nd to 4th. The total prize fund of the tournament will be $100,000. The winner will receive the main reward in the form of $50,000 and ESL Pro League Conference Season 17, where eight invites to EPL #17 with a prize pool of $835,000 will be drawn.
