Cloud 9 seire for andre gang på ESL Pro League Season 16

The Cloud9 team outplayed Eternal Fire with a score of 2:0 in the group stage of ESL Pro League Season 16. After this victory, the Russian team became the leader of group D, while Eternal Fire continues to hang at the very bottom with zero points in the graph.

The first confrontation of the second round of group D started on the Dust 2 map, which became the choice of the Turkish team. At the same time, Eternal Fire showed quite a good defense, taking advantage of the opponent's decision to start for the attack — 9:6. However, after the switch of sides, the situation has changed dramatically, as the initiative has now passed into the hands of Cloud9. As a result, Eternal Fire did not show anything in attack, allowing groove's wards to take the lead in the series — 16:12.

Then the teams moved to the Overpass map, which became the choice of Cloud9. At the same time, the start was entirely left to the Turkish team, which gave out an excellent series and got a serious advantage over the change of sides - 11:4. However, in the second half, Eternal Fire again disappeared from the radar, giving up all the initiative. In turn, Cloud9 won absolutely all rounds for defense, securing the second victory in the championship — 16:12.

In the third round of the competition, Cloud9 will play with Movistar Riders, while the Turkish team will face Evil Geniuses.

ESL Pro League Season 16 runs from August 31st to October 2nd in Malta at the Salini Resort. 24 teams from Europe, CIS, North and South America compete for a total prize pool of $835,000. The winner of the tournament will receive the main prize of $175,000, as well as tickets to BLAST Premier: World Final 2022 and IEM Katowice 2023.
