Welcome to EGamersWorld.
The Counter-Strike 2 professional season is gaining momentum with BLAST Bounty Season 1. In BLAST's experimental tournament, where nominally weaker teams choose their opponents, the same approach is used in the playoffs.
We are going to talk about the playoffs, or more precisely, the semi-finals. Here in the first match of the stage we will have a duel between G2 – Eternal Fire, where EF chose G2 as an opponent.
We are trying to figure out who will be stronger in the G2 – Eternal Fire match and advance to the grand final of BLAST Bounty Season 1.
Let's go.
G2 Esports Uniform
We open the analysis of the G2 – Eternal Fire match with an analysis of G2’s game form. In this match, the “samurai” play first number with a coefficient for victory in the region of 1.3.
After a frankly weak performance at EPL Season 17, G2 Esports played at BLAST.tv Paris Major 2023. In Paris, NiKo and company faced a real fiasco, as the tournament ended for them at the TOP-14 stage, which certainly did not fit into G2's plans.
- G2 Esports lineup: huNter, m0NESY, malbsMd, Snax, HeavyGod.
Before ESL Pro League Season 18, G2 Esports made their mark at several other major tournaments. These were BLAST Premier: Spring Finals and Fall Groups, where G2 took TOP-4 and TOP-8, respectively.
Next up is IEM Cologne 2023 and finally a win. They beat ENCE 3-1 in the grand final, thus taking another IEM title for the year.
The last championship was Gamers8. The largest commercial tournament of the season ended for G2 Esports in the TOP-4.
G2 Esports started ESL Pro League Season 18 with a predictable victory. In the debut match, they beat Lynn Vision with a score of 2-0, but, to be fair, they were close to a fiasco on the first map. However, G2 Esports subsequently reached the playoffs, and immediately to the quarterfinals, where they met MOUZ. The mice beat G2 Esports and later became EPL S18 champions.
Before participating in BLAST Premier: World Finals 2023, G2 Esports attended two more events. These were BLAST Premier: Fall European Showdown 2023 and IEM Sydney 2023. The team finished both tournaments in the TOP-4 stage. There was also CCT Online Finals #5, where G2 showed a frankly mediocre result. The title European club failed to break into the TOP-2 and get a slot for the global finals, and was content with only the TOP-4.
Before the start of PGL CS 2 Major Copenhagen 2024 Europe RMR G2 Esports played in three top tournaments. BLAST Premier: World Final 2023, BLAST Premier: Spring Groups 2024 and IEM Katowice 2024 and took TOP-6 in all of them. It looks good, but for the level of G2 Esports it is still not that.
Next up PGL Major Copenhagen 2024: European RMR A G2 Esports played at their level. The level you expect from them – that is, TOP-2 and a slot in the Legends of Copenhagen CS2 Major.
Later, G2 Esports played at PGL CS2 Major Copenhagen, where they managed to reach the playoffs and finish in the TOP-4. In the semi-finals, they lost to the future champions from NaVi.
G2 Esports played at IEM China 2024, where the “samurai” managed to reach the TOP-4. Later they played at ESL Pro League Season 19, where they reached the TOP-8, losing to the future champions from MOUZ.
G2 Esports attended IEM Dallas 2024, where they managed to snatch victory, beating Vitality 2-1 in the grand final. They also played BLAST Premier: Spring Final 2024, where they finished in the top 8.
Esports World Cup 2024 G2 Esports started with a confident victory over MongolZ, although the latter butted heads. Then there was a match against Team Spirit, which the “samurai” won again, beating one of the strongest teams in the world with a score of 2-1. Later, G2 beat Vp, but lost to NaVi in the grand final with a score of 1-2.
G2 Esports then played in almost all top Counter-Strike 2 tournaments. They competed in BLAST Premier: Fall Groups 2024, where they took TOP-1-4, as well as IEM Cologne 2024, where they finished in TOP-6.
At ESL Pro League Season 20, the team won Group B, beating KOI, 3DMAX, and MIBR one after another. In the playoffs, they went straight to the quarterfinals, where they defeated Liquid. However, G2's path was interrupted at the TOP-4 stage: they lost to NaVi, who later became the tournament champions.
A little later, G2 managed to get revenge on NaVi, beating the “born to win” in the grand final of BLAST Premier: Fall Final 2024. However, they failed to translate the victories at the fall finals into a series of victories, because at IEM Rio Masters 2024, G2 Esports took the TOP-13-16.
However, G2 Esports then played at BLAST Premier: World Final 2024, where they celebrated their triumph by winning another cup at the BLAST series championship. In the final, they crushed Spirit with a score of 3-0.
G2 Esports started their journey to the Major with a win over NiP. Then they easily beat 9 Pandas. But in the match for the Major with a score of 3-0, G2 Esports sensationally lost to 3DMax, although they subsequently took the series against Spirit and reached Perfect World Shanghai Major 2024 with a score of 3-1.
Elimination Stage PW Shanghai Major 2024 started with a loss to MongolZ, but then beat BIG and 3DMax. In the match for the playoffs, G2 Esports beat FaZe Clan. At the start of the main stage, G2 Esports beat Heroic. In the semi-finals of PW Shanghai Major 2024, they met FaZe, where in a close fight, albeit with a score of 0-2, they lost, thereby taking the TOP-4.
In the new season, like most teams, they started with the “closed qualifiers” for BLAST Bounty Season 1, where they won two matches against B8 and BIG, although both matches ended with a score of 1-2. In the main stage of BLAST Bounty Season 1, G2 Esports started with a victory over BB.
G2 Esports Mappool
G2's main map is Ancient. There, G2 played 8 matches, winning 6 of them.
Next comes Anubis (3 games, 2 wins), Vertigo (5 matches, 3 wins), Inferno (12 matches, 58% wins).

Eternal Fire Form
We continue our analysis of the Eternal Fire – G2 Esports match with an analysis of EF’s game form. In this match, they are playing as underdogs with a win odds of around 2.
Eternal Fire began actively making their way to the title tournaments in the 2023 season. Then the team won ESL Pro League Season 17: European Conference, thereby securing a place in EPL S17. The main event ended badly - only TOP-20 and no way out of the group.
They also took part in BLAST.tv Paris Major 2023: European RMR B. They took the TOP-14 there, which was not enough to qualify for the only major of the season.
In the middle of the year, Eternal Fire showed their best form. The Turks entered the TOP-4 twice, but did so at TIR-V tournaments. They made it into the top four at CCT North Europe Series #7 and Thunderpick World Championship 2023: European Series #1.
- Eternal Fire lineup: XANTARES, jottAAA, MAJ3R, Wicadia, woxic.
Before the start of ESL Pro League Season 8, MAJ3R's team played in CCT Central Europe and Pinnacle Cup V. Both championships ended for them in the TOP-8.
Eternal Fire played their debut match at ESL Pro League Season 18 against Cloud9. They played as number two and played for a logical result: 0-2, but with 11 and 12 rounds respectively.
In the first match of the lower bracket, Eternal Fire played against 9INE. The Turks were clearly in shape, as they managed to easily overcome a rather strong competitor. The match ended with a score of 2-0 in favor of Eternal Fire. As a result, the run to ESL Pro League Season 18 ended very well: the team barely qualified for the playoffs of the tournament, where they managed to win two series. EF left Astralis and BIG behind, but lost to Natus Vincere.
EF later placed Top 16 at Roobet Cup 2023, where they placed Top 16 and Top 2 at PARI, Please. In 2024, Eternal Fire attended PGL Major Copenhagen 2024: European Qualifier B, where they placed Top 2, advancing to European RMR A.
IEM Katowice 2024 started with the Play-In stage. By the way, they passed it very easily: 13-1 against BB Team and 2-0 against Rebels Gaming allowed them to get into the group stage. In the first match of the group stage, they also easily defeated Falcons (13-9; 13-6), and then showed a very vigorous CS in the match against the world's TOP-2 team FaZe Clan, but lost on three maps (1-2). As a result of IEM Katowice 2024, Eternal Fire took the TOP-12, after which they began to play at PGL Major Copenhagen 2024: European RMR A.
At the qualifying tournament, the Turks took the TOP-8, which gave them the opportunity to advance to PGL CS 2 Major Copenhagen 2024, which is true, to the first stage.
At PGL CS 2 Major Copenhagen 2024, Eternal Fire are doing very well so far. The Turks have 2 wins and 1 loss: they beat Mongolz and Pain, but lost 0-2 to Heroic in the match for reaching the next stage. However, they succeeded on their next attempt: they beat GL with a score of 2-1.
In the Legends stage, Eternal Fire debuted with a surprising win against Vitality. However, in the second round, they lost to MOUZ, which brought them to a 1-1 score. But then there was a real sensation: 13-1 against FaZe Clan and the score is 2-1 for the Turks.
Eternal Fire got into the playoffs of the tournament after defeating Vp. The match ended with a score of 2-1. However, they were unable to move beyond the first round, because NaVi turned out to be stronger than the Turks and closed the series with a score of 2-0.
They also attended ESL Pro League Season 19, where they failed, and quite seriously. The Turkish team took TOP-21-28. Then the diametrically opposite situation at CCT Season 1: Global Finals and then – not getting out of the group at YaLLa Compas 2024.
Eternal Fire got to IEM Cologne 2024 thanks to the ESL world ranking, but they finished in the TOP-20 without really having time to show anything. Then there were equally disastrous tournaments like IEM Rio 2024, with a TOP-12 finish, and a failure at Perfect World Shanghai Major 2024: European RMR B with a TOP-14 finish.
Season 2025 started with the qualifiers for BLAST Bounty Season 1. There, EF beat ENCE and Falcons in a clean sweep. Right at the final stage of BLAST Bounty Season 1, Eternal Fire beat Vitality in a clean sweep.
Eternal Fire Mappool
The best map is Nuke. There are 4 matches and 4 wins.
Anubis is doing very well (7 matches, 85% win rate), Mirage (4 matches, 75% win rate). Vertigo – 71% win rate in 7 matches, Inferno and Overpass – 3 wins in 5 matches.
G2 Esports vs Eternal Fire Head-to-Head History
Previously, the teams played each other twice during the season. Each team won a series, but G2 won the bo1, and Eternal Fire won the bo2 with a score of 2-0.
Predicted result of the match Eternal Fire – G2 Esports at BLAST Bounty Season 1
I expect an even game from this match. Eternal Fire looks pretty lively at this tournament, beating big clubs without a win, while G2 has difficulties with B8 level teams. This makes me think about a full bo3.
Result: total +2.5.
