The first matches of the PGL Arlington Major playoff stage, the main Dota 2 tournament of August, start today. The 12 best teams have preliminary passed the group stage, the results of which you can read in our material.
The playoffs of the tournament will be held in the Double Elimination bracket. The format of all matches, except for the grand final, is bo3. The decisive match will be played up to 3 wins (bo5). The favorites of the tournament are the Chinese teams, in particular PSG.LGD, which have never lost in the group stage.
The first playoff matches of the PGL Arlington Major stage are as follows:
- PSG.LGD vs BOOM Esports - 18:00 EEST
- Entity vs OG - 21:00 EEST
- Outsiders vs Team Spirit - 00:00 EEST
- Team Aster vs Fnatic - 03:00 EEST
Winning these matches guarantees participants a minimum of $12,500 and 360 DPC points.
Teams that took 5th-6th place in the group stage, namely Royal Never Give Up, beastcoast, Team Liquid and Evil Geniuses, will be waiting for their rivals in the lower part of the bracket. Losers bracket fights start tomorrow.
Recall that the PGL Arlington Major takes place from 4 to 14 August this year. The top 17 teams from around the world compete for the $500,000 prize pool and 4,570 DPC points needed to qualify for The International 2022. The venue is Esports Stadium Arlington in Arlington, Texas. The winner will receive the main prize of $200,000 and 820 DPC points.
