Welcome back to EGamersWorld.
We continue our breakdown of the DreamLeague S19: Playoffs with a betting tee on Team Liquid vs Gaimin Gladiators, who will play in the second match of the main stage.
Before the game, we took a look back at the path the teams have taken before these play-offs. We analyzed the teams' performances in DPC 2023, the international arena, and in DreamLeague S19 itself.
We've also studied all the changes from patch 7.33 and we're now ready to tell you what to expect and who will advance to the top-flight final. Let's begin.
Gaimin Gladiators Form
We begin our coverage with an analysis of the Gaimin Gladiators, who are favoured to win the title at odds of 1.82.
A figure like that hints at the closeness of the teams in terms of play in this match. On paper, the clubs are really evenly matched.
Gaimin Gladiators have been in the top 3 twice. In the first season of DPC 2023: WEU Upper Division GG finished 2nd in the league, but quickly overtook the top 2 at the Lima Major 2023, winning the title of the first Major tournament. They won, and quite easily, shutting out all their opponents, including Team Liquid, by a wide margin.
The next season DPC 2023: WEU Upper Division Gaimin Gladiators finished lower, in the top 3. Tundra Esports, who beat the Gladiators in tiebreaks, prevented them from repeating last season's result.
- Gaimin Gladiators line-up for DreamLeague S19: dyrachyo, Quinn, Ace, tOfu, Seleri .
At DreamLeague S19 the team plays in a stable line-up, which, considering the championship trends, is a plus, because two teams from the play-offs play with substitutes. Unfortunately for GG there is no Liquid among these two teams, but not about that now.
Now about GG's successes in this tournament. They have, otherwise GG would not have made the play-offs.
In the first round of DreamLeague S19, the team won their group, sharing the championship with Shopify Rebellion and Evil Geniuses. They finished Stage 1 with a score of 10-4 and advanced to Stage 2, where they continued their expansion.
At DreamLeague S19 Stage 2 with a score of 6-1, sharing the lead with Team Liquid, which allowed them to qualify for the tournament's play-offs.
The most popular DreamLeague Season 19
Two of GG's most popular characters are Spurrottes. They are Undying and Rubick who were taken 9 matches each and have a win rate of 77%.
Rubick (6 matches, 66% win rate), Beastmaster (5 matches, 80% win rate), Beastmaster (5 matches, 80% win rate) were also successful.
Obviously, the approach to the draft will change with the release of the patch, but given the level of the Gladiators, they are bound to adapt quickly to the patch, although they themselves said otherwise.
If you believe in a GG victory, bet on their victory at odds of 1.82. Not ready to bet in favour of Gaimin Gladiators - check out Team Liquid's form below.
Team Liquid form
The Gaimin Gladiators will face off against Team Liquid on their way to the top play-offs final. "Liquid" will play as the underdog, with odds of 1.88 to win.
As mentioned above, the gap between the teams is nominal. In reality, we're looking forward to a clash of equal teams, as the odds indicate.
They are fully in line with reality. Liquid is the two-time DPC 2023 WEU Upper Division champion and that is a remarkable achievement because Western Europe is still the most competitive region in modern Dota 2, and the best teams in the world play there.
The international scene has also been a serious one. The Berlin Major 2023, the first Major tournament, saw Liquid finish in 2nd place, losing in the Top Ranking Final and the Grand Final to Gaimin Gladiators, but they played with substitutes as Boxi dropped out due to illness.
At DreamLeague S19, the team plays with a full roster and this is immediately noticeable.
- Team Liquid's line-up for DreamLeague S19: miCKe, Nisha, Zai, Boxi, Insania.
DreamLeague S19 Liquid are almost a model. They closed the first stage with a score of 11-3, without losing a single series. The only loss came in the second stage, in the first game against exactly the same Gaimin Gladiators, which, however, did not affect the final result: The Liquid went into the play-offs with a score of 6-1, from first place.
Team Liquid's most popular heroes
On DreamLeague S19, Pangolier made it to the top of the most picked heroes. The hero has 6 matches and 0 defeats.
Next comes Disruptor (5 matches, 80% wins), Io (5 matches, 60% wins). Rubick (4 matches, 100% wins), Enchantress (3 matches, 66% wins).
Keeping in mind the patch factor that came down on our heads the day before the Long Cognega play-offs. As with the Gaimin Gladiators, Liquid must adapt quickly to the changes and find the most workable strategies.
If you believe in the success of Team Liquid, bet on a win at odds in the region of 1.88. Before you place your bets, however, we recommend you check out the history of their head-to-head encounters.
History of head-to-head encounters between Team Liquid and Gaimin Gladiators
The teams have previously played each other five times. In all games, Liquid have only won once, on DPC 2023: WEU Upper Division Tour 1.
Predicted results for Team Liquid vs Gaimin Gladiators
A key component of the matchup will be the adaptability of the teams. The team that will be able to adapt faster to patch 7.33 will emerge victorious.
In this vein I believe in Team Liqud. Gladiators themselves admitted that they need a lot of time to find workable strategies, and Liquid, with their tremendous experience in the professional scene, should not have such problems.
Bottom line: victory for Liquid.
