The battles continue in DreamLeague Season 22, one of the key tournaments of the 2024 season. The ESL tournament is in full swing with the battle for play-offs, where only 4 teams out of 8 teams playing in the second group stage will make it to the play-offs.

Among the contenders for passage there are place OG and GG. Classic European Dota 2 at this tournament is not going through the best of times and OG and GG have the power to change that.

We are trying to figure out which team will be stronger and will improve their shaky position in the second group stage of DreamLeague Season 22.

GG uniforms

Let's start the match analysis with the analysis of GG's form. In this match the team will play as favourites with odds to win at around 1.5.

At the DPC 2023 Tour 1 WEU Division 1, the team took the top 2, which opened the way for them to The Lima Major 2023. The first Major season of the tournament was a trailblazing triumph for the Gladiators. Gaimin Gladiators won the tournament without losing a single map in the championship play-offs.

The next DPC cycle in the home league ended even worse than the previous one. Then GG lost to tiebreaker for the top 2, but more than compensated for the failure with a performance on the international stage. Even twice.

On the eve of Long Copega DPC 2023: Tour 3, GG took the championship in two international arenas. They won the $1,000,000 DreamLeague S19 and The Berlin Major 2023, defending their status.

In the third round of the domestic league, Gaimin Gladiators were expectedly one of the top contenders to win the league, but failed to get the regional championship. At the end of DPC 2023: WEU Tour 3 GG took 2nd place, but they made it to the Major, and that's the main thing.

There was also DreamLeague Season 20, where in the first group stage GG felt like they played half-heartedly. Nevertheless, they made it to the next stage and then won the grand final.

After winning DreamLeague Season 20, Gaimin Gladiators won another title. This time it was the Major a Champions Cup again. At Bali Major 2023, GG were once again beaten by Team Liquid in the grand finals.

GG had high chances to finish all the big tournaments of the year with victories, but at Riyadh Masters 2023 they were unlucky. In the first round of play-offs "gladiators" fell to the lower play-offs grid, where at the stage of TOP-4 Ledge or Talon Esports and left the championship.

Before The International 2023, GG visited DreamLeague Season 21. There they showed not the best performance, having played the championship at the TOP-8 stage. After The International 2023, GG performed well, despite losing the TI 2023 Grand Final against Team Spirit. Next, GG had a top-2 finish at ESL One Kuala Lumpur 2023 and a top-6 finish at BB Dacha Dubai 2024.

At DreamLeague Season 22, GG Long Sogpeg had a very disappointing showing. GG finished the first day 1-3, losing to BB and drawing with Azure Ray. Day 2 was much better, with a win against Vp and a draw with OG. Next was a neutral result in the form of a loss against Falcons and a win against Heroic. On the last day of the group stage we played a draw against G2.IG, but got to tiebreaker. Already on tiebreaker they defeated Vp and qualified for the next stage.

In the play-offs GG feel so bad. The team has 2 wins in 5 matches, which is very little for a comfortable passage to the play-offs of the tournament.

Next came Pangolier (6 matches, 83% wins), Doom (6 matches, 66% wins), Keeper of the Light (5 matches, 80% wins), Ember Spirit (5 matches, 80% wins).

OG Form

We continue the match analysis with the analysis of OG's form. In this match, they are playing the number two, and the odds for an OG win are at around 2.2.

At DPC 2023: WEU Division 1 Tour 1, OG were unable to guarantee themselves a top-4 finish and as a result missed out on The Lima Major 2023. Things seemed to pick up during the second round of DPC 2023: WEU Division 1. Then OG made a strong-willed comeback and made it to the Top 4 after tiebreaks.

At the Berlin Major, the team played with two stand-ins and made it to the top 6, but it seems that those stand-ins were the secret to their success. After returning to regular season matches with a full roster, OG looked critically bad, but at the last moment they improved.

After a year-long extravaganza, Ceb is the new OG player. OG resorted to their ultimatum weapon during DreamLeague Season 20, but it didn't help them and OG finished in the top 20.

After DreamLeague Season 20, OG attended another championship of a larger calibre, the Riyadh Masters 2023. Unfortunately for them, they ended it on a Minor note - in TOP-14.

"Closed" the season with a performance at the closed Western European qualifiers for The International 2023. The once two-time world champions failed to make it through the most competitive qualifying round and as a result OG flew past The International.

After failing to qualify for the year's biggest tournament, OG finished in the top 4 at DL Season 21 and ESL One Kuala Lumpur 2023 Western Europe Closed Qualifier.

2024 started the year with a run at BB Dacha 2024 Dubai and a top-2 finish at DreamLeague Season 22 Qualifiers. Then they finished 2nd place at ESL One Birmingham 2024: WEU Qualifiers and Top 12 at BB Dacha Dubai 2024.

OG went through the first day of DL S22 very well. The team dryly shut down G2.IG and drew with Falcons. The second day was worse than the first: a loss to BB and a draw with GG. On the third day played two draws: against Vp and Azure Ray. On the last day we played a draw with Heroic.

We couldn't get to the next stage directly and had to play tiebreaker. There OG showed their class and beat GG and Vp in turn.

In the first game of the second group stage of DreamLeague Season 22 the team played against BB. Showing a cool, fast-paced play on the first, Ledge or on the second and third maps, thus losing with a score of 1-2. Next they lost against Falcons, but cameback against Xtreme Gaming.

In the next match OG managed to beat Aurora, thus temporarily leaking to the third place of the second group stage.
