We continue to keep an eye on the events happening at DreamLeague Season 22. Battles within the group stage are ongoing at the first major tournament of the year.

We are talking about Group A, where 8 teams are fighting for a spot in the playoffs. Among the contenders for advancement to the main stage are Falcons and Heroic. Both teams played neutrally on the first day, so they need to score points in the upcoming games no matter what.

Let's try to figure out how the face-to-face best-of-two match between Falcons and Heroic will end and if any of the teams can secure a clean victory in the upcoming championship.

Falcons' Form

We start the match overview with an analysis of Falcons' gameplay form. In this match, the Saudi club plays as the clear favorite, with the odds for their victory around 1.5.

Falcons is a Saudi club that is gearing up to conquer esports as a whole. The process is still ongoing, but even this Dota lineup hints at plans to stay here for a long time.

In general, the tag is not new, but they haven't achieved much fame. All they've limited themselves to is playing in the local Saudi eLeague. They played there in 2020, achieving Top 6, and in 2021, achieving Top 3 and Top 1, respectively.

After a year-long hiatus, they decided to return to the professional scene following the cancellation of the Valve DPC system. They're making a splash.

They easily passed the open qualifiers first and then, again without any major issues, breezed through the closed qualifiers. In the final, by the way, they defeated PSG Quest with a score of 3-1. What both of these teams are doing in the MENA region is not entirely clear, but oh well.

At Pinnacle: 25 Year Anniversary Show, Falcons look very confident, as expected from them. They have already secured their place in the playoffs, coming out of Group B in first place without losing a single map in three matches.

Falcons started their journey in the Pinnacle: 25 Year Anniversary Show playoffs with a match against Level Up in the first round. An easy victory led Falcons to The dudley boys, where Falcons suffered their first and only loss in the tournament. They were defeated by The dudley boys, whom Falcons later defeated in the grand final.

At the end of the Pinnacle: 25 Year Anniversary Show, Falcons took first place and earned $50,000. Triumph at the local championship was Falcons' first victory in the discipline. But not the last.

After winning at Pinnacle, Falcons took Top 6 at ESL One Kuala Lumpur 2023, and then they began to dominate. In 2024, they won three qualifying tournaments: for BB Dacha, for DreamLeague Season 22, and ESL One Birmingham in their MENA region.

Just before participating in DL Season 22, Falcons became champions of BB Dacha, earning $400,000.

On the first day of the DreamLeague Season 22 group stage, Falcons went 2-2, which is not bad, but not particularly good either.

Heroic's Form

Continuing the analysis of the Falcons – Heroic match with an analysis of Heroic's form. In this match, the South American club plays as the underdog, with odds for their victory around 9.

Heroic is a new name for the Dota 2 competitive scene. Although the team is well-known outside the Valve MOBA professional scene, the club was not in a hurry to sign a lineup in this discipline. That changed in 2023.

Heroic entered Dota 2 by signing the South American mix D2 Hustlers, with some changes. The final debut roster of Heroic looked like this:

During the 2024 competitive season, the club achieved Top 8 at DreamLeague Season 22: South America Open Qualifier #1, Top 2 at BB Dacha Dubai 2024: NA and SA Closed Qualifier, and then won DL Season 22: South America Open Qualifier #2 and DL Season 22: South America Closed Qualifier, defeating BOOM 2-0 in the grand final.

The last tournament before participating in DL Season 22 was the qualifiers for ESL Birmingham 2024 from South America. There, Heroic once again defeated BOOM in the grand final, thereby securing a slot at the first major LAN tournament of the year.

After the first game day, Heroic is in 4th place in the group stage table with a match score of 1-1 and a map score of 2-2. They defeated G2.IG and lost to Vp.

Heroic's Most Popular Heroes

The most picked heroes were Natures Prophet and Rubick. Both heroes were picked 4 times and have a 100% win rate.

Judging by the odds, this match looks like one where there won't be much competition. Falcons are too strong of a favorite, but I wouldn't write off Heroic just yet.
