Forutsigelse av kamp: T1 - Gen.G | LoL
LCK Spring 2023 - PlayoffsThe climax of the LCK Spring 2023 play-offs is approaching in South Korea. In the race for the league title, the top prize of $154,000 and a trip to the Mid-Season Invitational 2023, there are 4 teams left.
The main contenders for the champion's title are T1 and Gen.G. They will compete for the right to the grand final of the tournament.
T1 reached the LCK Spring 2023 play-offs from first place in the regular season, having lost their only series. In their first match of the play-offs, Faker's team played a tough boo3.
Gen.G advanced to the main stage of the Spring Split from second place in the regular season with a score of 13-5. In the first play-offs match, they took down their opponent 3-1 without too much trouble.
Let's try to figure out how the top South Korean derby will end and which of the region's grands will be the first participant in the LCK Spring 2023 Grand Final.
Form T1
Let's open the match breakdown with an analysis of T1's playing form. The team is expectedly in favourite status.
The bookmakers are well aware of what T1 are all about. The odds of a win are estimated at around 1.4.
T1 as favourites with South Korea is a classic, you have to know that. However, after the first T1 play-offs you start to wonder whether they are as strong as they are. Are T1s as strong in the new season as they are portrayed?
T1 squad
It's silly to argue with the results of the group stage: T1 were tearing and thrashing there. The titular super squad of the South Korean grande had no trouble outplaying all their opponents, but now it has come down to the most worthy and already in the first match the team was close to collapse.
T1 players
- zeus
- Oner
- Faker
- Gumayusi
- Keria
The team almost lost to KT Rolster and that might be a wake-up call, however, it's not that simple here. KT Rolster were the one team that managed to take the series away from T1 during the regular season, a kind of kryptonite of grands.
Unsurprisingly, it was hard for Faker's team to play against an uncomfortable opponent, but it was the result that mattered. The MVP of the game was =Gumayusi, Oner and Faker on Gragas on the last card.
T1's performance
Last year T1 were one step away from another world title. T1 lost their fourth title by a score of 2-3 to DRX.
In the new season the team, being professionals with a capital letter, did not let go of the frustrating Worlds 2022 Grand Final situation and started to dictate their own rules. The regular season ended with a 17-1 statistic.
The only defeat came against KT Rolster. Then the "little brother" managed to take the series with a score of 2-1.
The first match of the play-offs saw another derby of the "telecoms". T1 won in a tense struggle on the 5th card, taking the series for themselves.
T1 champions
The most popular champion on the top line is Gnar (10 games, 90% wins). Jayce appeared 8 times with 87% win rate. Kenen played 4 times and won all games, KSante 4 times and 3 wins, Renekton 4 times and 2 wins.
In the Forest, Vi (11 games, 72% wins), Sejuani (10 games, 80% wins), Wukong (7 games, 85% wins), Le Sin (6 games, 83% wins) were picks.
On the centre line were Azir (13 games, 69% wins), Gragas (6 games, 100% wins), Kassadin (5 games, 100% wins), Viktor (4 games, 75% wins).
The most popular ADC is Lucian (12 games, 83% wins). Next are Varus (8 games, 87% wins), Caitlyn (5 games, 100% wins), Zeri (4 games, 75% wins).
Nami (13 games, 84% win rate). Ashe and Lux have 4 games and 4 wins each.
Gen.G's form
Let's move on to parsing the playing form of "eternal rival" T1, team Gen.G. They play in the outsider status.
The odds of Gen.G winning are estimated at 2.84. As we see, the bookmakers leave room for manoeuvre, because the double advantage in the LCK play-offs does not yet guarantee an easy walk for the favourite, as we already saw in the KT Rolster - T1 match, for example.
The gap, on the other hand, is explained by the performance during the regular season. There, the Gen.G were head-to-head stronger than most of the competitors, but they were nevertheless far from total domination.
Gen.G. line-up
The one area where the Gen.G's reigned supreme was in the first round of the LCK Spring 2023 play-offs. The top line-up helped, of course.
Gen.G players
- Doran
- Peanut
- Chovy
- Peyz
- Delight
There's no need to reintroduce Gen.G players, they feel perfectly at home in a regional league. It's much nicer to celebrate the stars of Gen.G's first match in the play-offs.
Against HLE, Peyz, Peanut and Delight shone. However, it is irrational to draw conclusions from the game against Hanwa Life Esports as Gen.G too easily ran over their vis-a-vis.
Gen.G's performance
Last season, Gen.G swiftly stormed into the top of the South Korean League of Legends. They managed to win the 2022 Summer Split and reach the top 4 of Worlds 2022.
At LCK Spring 2023 Gen.G with their new duo-bot managed to take 2nd place in the group stage. The team finished 13-5 in the group stage.
Gen.G finished the regular season 30-15 on the cards.
Their first match in the play-offs was against Hanwa Life Esports. The result was a battering of HLE, however the latter managed to claw back the card.
Gen.G Champions.
The most frequent champions on the top line were KSante (9 games, 66% wins), Gnar (9 games, 77% wins). Also had Jayce (8 games, 75% wins), Jax (5 games, 60% win rate).
Vi (11 games, 81% win rate), Wukong (11 games, 54% win rate) were the most frequent appearances in the forest. Other players also appeared in Sejuani (7 games, 71% win rate), Maokai (6 games, 83% win rate).
Taliyah (6 games, 66% wins), Azir (6 games, 50% wins) appeared in midrange. Sylas appeared 5 times, with a win rate of 80%.
Zeri appeared on the bot most often (13 games, 76% win rate). Varus (77% wins in 9 games), Lucian (5 games, 20% wins).
Of the Spartans, Lulu (9 games, 66% wins), Karma (7 games, 85% wins), Heimerdinger (5 games, 60% wins).
History of personal confrontations
T1 played Gen.G twice during the regular season. Two games were won by T1: 2-1, 2-0.
Match Outcome.
At LCK Spring 2023, I expect a replay of last year's history. Then, in LCK Spring 2023, T1 outplayed Gen.G and quite easily.
This spring the situation is a bit different and Gen.G will be able to put up a fight, but they won't be able to win. T1 should close out the series and advance to the grand final.
Bottom line: victory for T1.
