Welcome to EGamersWorld.
The LoL World Championship 2024, the premier esports tournament of 2024, is gaining momentum. The play-offs stage of the World Championship is heating up.
There are 4 teams left in the race for the main prize of $445,000 and the title of the best team in the world. Among the contenders for the Callers Cup are two teams from the LPL - Weibo Gaming and Bilibili Gaming.
We are trying to figure out who will be stronger in the Chinese derby and at the end of the bo5 match will go to the grand finals.
Let's go.
Bilibili Gaming uniforms
Let's open the Bilibili Gaming vs Weibo Gaming match with an analysis of Bilibili Gaming's form. In this match they will play as favourites with odds to win at around 1.2.
Last season BLG stormed into the top 2 of the Chinese region with lightning speed, thus clawing their way to the Mid-Season Invitational 2023. Another sensation happened at the international event: BLG made it to the grand finals, only to lose to JD Gaming.
Another plus for BLG is the roster renewed at Long Conference 2023. The club managed to assemble a top company.
- BLG roster: Bin, XUN, knight, Elk, ON.
After a really triumphant half-year, Bilibili Gaming has not slowed down at all. The team was the first to reach the play-offs of LPL Summer 2023, and also set a local record: the only one in the history of the series finished the group stage with one defeat.
In the first match of the play-offs, TES faced off. The game was played under the dictation of vice-champions LPL Spring 2023 and BLG beat TES very confidently with a score of 3-1.
In the final of the upper grid Bilibili Gaming played against their principal rival - JD Gaming team. The reigning LPL champions left their colleagues no chance and shut down BLG with a score of 3-0.
Unlike the spring split, BLG had a slightly less confident performance in the summer. The vice-champions of the Mid-Season Invitational 2023 ended the summer split in third place, Ledgeiv in the match to advance to the LNG Esports Grand Final with a 1-3 score.
Bilibili Gaming got a pretty serious opponent in their first match at Worlds 2023. Yagao and company played against South Korea's top 3, KT Rolster, and in a 45 minute battle they were stronger.
Next up was JD Gaming and there was no way to win. However, Ledge and the first team of China, BLG got a "free" round against Fnatic, thus making the score 2-1.
BLG ran into T1 in a 2-1 basket and it didn't bode well for the Chinese club. T1 won and went on to advance, while Bilibili Gaming travelled to the net 2-2.
In the final Swiss clash, they met G2 Esports. Bilibili won 2-1, sending the first team in Europe home.
In the first round of play-offs Bilibili Gaming met Gen.G. After a rather easy 2-0, the Korean Grand equalised at 2-2, and everything was decided on the 5th map. It was decided in favour of BLG, who caught Chovy a few times on Akali, and eventually sent Gen.G home empty-handed.
However, after defeating Gen.G, Bilibili Gaming failed to beat their compatriots from WBG in the match to qualify for the Worlds 2023 Grand Final.
BLG faced Royal Never Give Up in their opening match already at Demacia Cup 2023. One of the brightest teams of the group stage failed to do anything against a stronger opponent and eventually left the championship, while BLG celebrated a 3-1 victory. Ninjas in Pyjamas didn't feel Ninjas in Pyjamas in the match to reach the grand finals. Neither did they feel JD Gaming in the final itself.
BLG arrived at the Mid-Season Invitational (MSI) 2024 as the LPL Spring 2024 champions. They got it by outscoring TES in the grand finals by a score of 3-1. MSI 2024 made their debut against PSG Talon and surprisingly, they beat their counterparts very sluggishly with a 3-2 score. And in the next match BLG beat their more formidable opponent T1. But to cope with another representative of LCK, the champions of the spring split Gen.G failed: 1-3 and fell to the bottom net. BLG defeated T1 3-2 in the match to reach the grand final. In the grand final itself, Ledge and Gen.G played.
Later BLG played at Esports World Cup 2024, where they lost in the first round to T1, who eventually won the tournament. Next, Bilibili Gaming resumed play at LPL Summer 2024, where they qualified for Group B in first place in the first stage. At the Rumble Stage, they showed their level as they came away with a 7-1 win to take first place.
Bilibili Gaming made it to Worlds 2024 thanks to their victory at LPL Summer 2024, where they defeated WBG 3-0 in the Grand Final.
They started Worlds 2024 with a solid win over MAD Lions KOI. At 1-0, they faced LNG Esports and lost in the derby. They also lost in a 1-1 basket match where they met T1. After going 1-2 in the basket match, they defeated PSG Talon. In the Worlds 2024 play-offs match, BLG played against G2 Esports and won 2-1. Leaders LPL Long Sogpeggo play-offs World Championship 2024 with a win over Hanwha Life Esports.

Form Weibo Gaming
We continue the analysis of the match WBG - Bilibili Gaming with the analysis of Weibo Gaming form. In this match they are playing as number two with odds to win around 2.6.
Weibo Gaming can be called a newcomer to the LPL, as the club appeared on the Esports radar and the big stage in 2021, and made their LPL debut in 2022.
As a rookie, the results were very good. Weibo made the top 8 twice in 2022, finishing top 6 at LPL Spring 2022 and top 8 at LPL Summer 2022.
At the last tournament played before LPL Summer 2023, the previous LPL Spring 2023 split, the team again finished in the top 6. It's not surprising, as the club has a great roster.
- Weibo Gaming roster: Breathe, Tarzan, Xiaohu, Light, Crisp.
Weibo Gaming very confidently entered the play-offs of the championship. In the group stage of LPL Summer 2023 the team played on the score 10-6, which allowed to take the sixth place.
Weibo's first opponent in the play-offs was Ninjas in Pyjamas, who made a great run through the group stage and then surprised in the play-offs, reaching the top 8. But obviously they couldn't win, with Weibo winning 3-1.
Weibo's next opponent in the LPL Summer 2023 play-offs was LNG Esports, who showed top flight performance in the regular season, reaching the top 2 of the league and almost beating JD Gaming in the finals. Nevertheless, it was Weibo LNG that LNG had to deal with in the play-offs, and that match ended with the score 2-3 not in favour of WG.
In the regional finals Weibo started their performance from the lower grid, where their opponent was TES. A willful 3-2 win was a key argument in favour of Weibo's advantage in this match.
Next up, Weibo played against EDG for a slot at Worlds 2023. WBG played quite a game and ended up shutting out EDward with a 3-1 score, earning a place at Worlds 2023.
In the opening match at Worlds 2023, Weibo Gaming faced off against NRG. The match ended exactly as it should have: absolute annihilation of the first team of America and an easy victory for Weio.
Next, Weibo played against G2 Esports, and this match was perhaps the most unexpected of all at Worlds 2023. G2 Esports outplayed their vis-a-vis in a mind-blowing series, thus sending Weibo to a 1-1 score. Spurred on by the loss from G2 Esports Weibo Ledgeili to host the stage in the form of KT Rolster.
Having hit the net 1-2 Weibo Gaming without any problems swatted MAD Lions, and after that went to play with another representative of the LEC - Fnatic. Weibo Gaming won the decisive match in the Swiss stage after falling behind by one card.
In the first round of play-offs WBG met NRG. The only team from the West only put up a fight on the first of the three maps played, but that wasn't even close to enough to give WBG problems.
In the semi-finals, Weibo met fellow vice-champions MSI 2023 Bibili Gaming. The LPL resident derby was one of the most colourful matches and ended on 5 maps with the score 3-2 in favour of WBG.
In the last match of last season WBG met T1 in the grand final of Worlds 2023. That match ended with a total beating of the Chinese club and T1's fourth win at the Worlds. And before the Long Sogpeg, LPL Spring 2024 had time to play at the local event of the Demacia Cup series, Demacia Cup 2023, where they reached the play-offs, but did not move further than the first round.
The group stage of LPL Spring 2024 Weibo played surprisingly poorly, as for a team of this status. WBG finished the LPL Spring 2024 regular season in seventh place, finishing 8-8. In the first round of play-offs Weibo shut out Invictus Gaming with a score of 3-2. Next up was a much tougher opponent in the form of LNG Esports and Weibo Gaming managed to handle them as well, finishing the match with a score of 3-2. However, the next match, and it was the game with JD Gaming, everything ended. As a result - top 6.
At LPL Summer 2024 WBG Long Competed from Group D, where they took the top 3 and went to the top grid of the Rumble Stage. Already it was 5-3, which allowed them to get straight into the 3rd round of play-offs. There they handled NiP, closing them out with a 3-1 score. However, next was the match with BLG and there WBG were beaten 0-3. In the match for the top 3 Weibo Gaming defeated LNG in a very unexpected way to advance to the next round. LPL Summer 2024 also had a surprisingly strong performance in their match to advance to the grand finals, defeating TES 3-2. Unfortunately for WBG fans, the grand final ended quickly and irrevocably: 0-3 in favour of BLG and second place for WBG.
At Worlds 2024, last year's Worlds finalist advanced to the second place LPL Regional Finals 2024. Long Sogpeg's Worlds Championship was followed by a loss to Gen.G before beating Liquid. Next up was a loss to G2 Esports and a 1-2 setback. However, in the basket 1-2 WBG outplayed Fnatic, although Ledge beat them on the first map. With the score 2-1 they won in the next series, against DPlus KIA. WBG started the LoL Worlds 2024 playoffs with a match against their compatriots from LNG Esports and, being nominally outsiders, won 3-1.
Weibo Gaming's most popular champions in spades
Weibo Gaming is not known for diversity in the top line up. TheShy plays KSante (10 games, 8 wins), Gnar (6 matches, 50% wins). Sion (2 matches, 100% wins) and Renekton (2 matches, 50% wins) make rare appearances.
The ubiquitous Maokai is ignored in the forest (appeared only once and lost). But Vi (6 games, 100% wins), Elise (6 games, 60% wins), Sejuani (4 games, 75% wins) get quite a lot of attention.
The centre line is occupied by Syndra (7 games, 85% wins), Ryze (4 games, 0% wins), Talliyah (3 games, 66% wins).
From shooters like Lucian (5 matches, 80% wins), Varus (4 games, 75% wins), Zeri, Sivir and Caitlyn appeared 3 times each and only Sivir didn't win a single game.
Sapports: Nami (7 matches, 85% wins), Ashe (4 matches, 50% wins), Yummi (3 matches, 33% wins).
History of head-to-head meetings Weibo Gaming - Bilibili Gaming
Previously, the teams have played each other several times in the LPL. In 2024 alone, the teams played each other 4 times and BLG won all games while giving up only 1 card.
Predicted result of the match Bilibili Gaming - Weibo Gaming at LoL World Championship 2024
We are in for a very chippy match. A replay of the LPL Grand Final is always an interesting spectacle at The International, and even more so when Bilibili Gaming and Weibo are playing.
What makes this match significant is the result of a similar match at Worlds 2023. Last year, BLG, being the favourite, lost in an epic bo5 and let Weibo through to the grand finals. It could happen again this time, but BLG definitely don't want to let that happen, and they look much more formidable than WBG right now.
Bottom line: BLG wins.
