Welcome to EGamersWorld.
We continue to look at what's happening on the League of Legends professional scene. Today we are talking about LCS Summer 2024, where the deciding matches are taking place.
Let me remind you that in the LCS Summer 2024 split 3 teams will get a slot at Worlds 2024. One of these teams is the winner of the pair C9 - 100 Thieves.
We are trying to figure out who from the pair C9 - 100 Thieves will be stronger and join Liquid and FlyQuest at Worlds 2024.
Let's go.
C9 Form.
We open our breakdown of the C9 vs FlyQuest match with an analysis of C9's match form. They will play in this match as favourites with odds to win at around 1.4.
The failure at the 2022 World Championships has not affected Cloud9's desire and ability to take the lead at LCS Spring 2023. During the LCS Spring 2023 regular season, C9 took first place with a score of 14-4.
The championship playoffs were not a serious test for Cloud9. The top North American club won LCS Spring 2023 and went to MSI 2023.
The first international event ended with Cloud9's Top 6.
- Cloud9 line-up: Thanatos, Blaber, Jojopyun, Berserker, Vulcan
A successful half of the year allowed Cloud9 to leave the roster unupsyntuited. The decision was obviously correct, as Cloud9 were among the first to guarantee their place in the play-offs of the LCS Summer Split.
Having finished the group stage with a score of 13-5, sharing the top 1 with Golden Guardians. Thanks to their successful performance in the group stage C9 were able to get straight into the second round of play-offs.
The first opponent for the main stage was Evil Geniuses. "Evil Geniuses" were unable to impose competition on C9 and lost 0-3.
In the match to reach the grand finals, there was no special difference from the previous game. Cloud9, played against NRG and ran them over with a score of 3-0, without much chance for NRG.
But in the LCS Summer 2023 Grand Final, things clearly didn't go according to plan. Cloud9 met NRG again and this time they came away with a surprise: the newcomer to the LCS beat the time-tested American champion 3-1.
Cloud9 made their debut at Worlds 2023 with a win against MAD Lions, and then faced Gen.G and LNG Esports, which did not bode well for Cloud9. As a result - 1-2. Then, another defeat and departure from the Worlds 2023 at the Swiss stage.
The 2024 season started with a performance at LCS Spring 2024, where they looked good until the late stages of the play-offs. Already in the main stage Liquid happened, 0-3 and top 3 in the end.
At LCS Summer 2024 Cloud9 had a consistently good regular season. Having won the group stage by 6-1, this allowed them to go directly to the second stage play-offs, but there they met FlyQuest and lost rather unexpectedly with a score of 1-3, falling to the bottom net.

Form 100 Thieves
We continue our analysis of 100 Thieves vs Cloud9 with an analysis of 100 Thieves form. In this match they will play as favourites with odds to win at around 3.3.
In the season before last, 100 Thieves had a good result. At LCS Lock-In 2022, the team finished in the top 8 and then improved their performance significantly.
At LCS Spring 2022 and LCS Summer 2022, they finished in the top 2 both times. This guaranteed them an appearance at Worlds 2022, but they failed to get above the Top 14.
- 100 Thieves line-up: Ssumday, Closer, Quid, Doublelift, Busio.
In the 2023 season, the success of 100 Thieves was much more modest. Last year, the team played "faded": Top 6 at LCS Spring 2023 and Top 8 at LCS Summer 2023.
In the 2024 season, 100 Thieves scored again. In the LCS Spring 2024 LCS Split, the team finished Top 4, losing to Liquid in the Top 3 match. Summer 2024 qualified for the regular season in 5th place, making it to the LCS Summer 2024 playoffs.
They made it to the top net, where they played against Dignitas in the first match, winning 3-0. But in the next round they ran into Team Liquid and lost 0-3. They stayed afloat thanks to a win over Dignitas in the lower play-offs.

History of personal meetings 100 Thieves - C9
Previously the teams played each other 4 times and only 1 time C9 won.
Predicted result of C9 vs 100 Thieves at LCS Summer 2024
In this match I expect a roughly even game from both sides. If we talk about the winner, I see C9 to take revenge, but 100 Thieves can obviously grab a card, or even more than one.
Bottom line: C9 wins.
