This DotA tournament was not the first to be canceled or postponed due to an outbreak of coronavirus. Earlier, the Chinese League in LoL , LPL Spring 2020 was postponed, and the Korean League in the same discipline started without a live audience. Blizzard, in turn, canceled all the February and March matches of the Chinese Overwatch League division, and WESG on CS: GO canceled.
