The team and really can be called the favorite of the match, because the team performs in the title region of Western Europe and showed a better result in the Lima Major 2023 than their direct competitor in the future match that is Execration. However, this does not change the facts - Entity is the worst team from Western Europe at this tournament.
The team got that "title" because of their recent performance in DPC 2023: EEU Upper Division Tour II. Fishman & Company were just one step away from relegation to Division Two, but managed to keep their place in the Elite League after the replay finals.
The team's decline is hard to explain. The last change in the squad was at the DPC Long Convergence 2023, but the further into the forest, the bigger the firewood: in the first season Entity made it to the Top 4 at the Lima Major 2023, and in the next round of Western Europe Entity made it to the Top 6.

A possible reason for such a drop in performance may be the team's morale. After their departure from the Lima Major 2023 in the top 6, the team got lost and it seems they haven't found themselves yet.
Nor did the Entity strategies, for which the team was famous before the release of the 7.32e letter patch, work much. Though they didn't change much in spades.
Entity's most popular characters
The most chosen character for Entity in the current DPC draw was Tiny. The character was taken 8 times, but has a 37% win rate.
Invoker and Disruptor were picked 7 times each. The latter has a 71% win rate, but the middling Invo has a dismal situation with only 28% of wins.
Entity is able to win due to its belonging to the Western European region. That's the best place for professional Dota 2 teams this year, and even a place in the top division is already an indicator.
On top of that, the team has managed to make the Top 6 at the Lima Major 2023 and get replayed at the DPC, which will raise the team's morale. If you believe in that, you can bet on Entity to win for 2.6.
Form Execration - Southeast Asia's second team
Execration will face Entity in their opening match. The latter will play in underdog status, as indicated by the bookmakers.
Betting houses give odds of around 3.8 for Execration to win. This figure is easy to understand, but very difficult to explain.
The main reason why Execration are ranked among the outsiders of the match is their belonging to Southeast Asia, a region experiencing hard times. On the international stage, teams from SEA rank low, although after the Lima Major 2023 and the success of Talon Esports, the situation began to change.
The second reason is the same Lima Major 2023. There, Execration were much worse than Entity, finishing in the top 16 at the end of the championship and not making it out of the group.
However, in the domestic league, the team felt good in the first round as well as in the second. In DPC 2023: SEA Upper Division Tour II the squad secured 2nd place, all thanks to a solid line-up.

Execration play in the best traditions of the region: aggressive and mobile. That, combined with the bo2 matchup format, may help Execration win against Entity. If you believe that, you should bet on Execration to win at odds of 3.8.
Predicted Execration - Entity match outcome
Given that this match is the first face-to-face encounter between the teams, it will be interesting to watch what happens in this match. The teams will be taking a closer look at each other, probing each other's weaknesses.
I don't see a winner in this match. Yes, Entity play in Western Europe, where the competition is higher, but they are the weakest team in the region and looked very confused in the last round.
Bottom line: a draw.
