Maksym ShylovThe Lima Major 2023, the first tournament of the Major series in the DPC 2023 season, will start very soon. The best representatives of the professional Dota 2 scene from all over the world have come to Lima, Peru to determine the best of the best, as well as compete for impressive cash prizes and DPC points, required to participate in The International 2023.
Format
18 teams will take part in the tournament. The Lima Major 2023 will be held in two stages: the group stage and the playoffs. In the group stage, the teams will be divided into two groups of 9 participants. The group stage is played in the Round-Robin format. The match format is Bo2. Participants in the top 4 will go to the upper bracket of the playoffs. The 5th-6th places will get slots in the lower bracket, and the rest of the teams will complete their participation in the Major. The fights will be held from 22 to 26 February. Then the teams will go on a two-day break.
The final stage of the tournament is scheduled from February 28th to March 5th. 12 teams will fight in the Double-Elimination bracket. The format of all matches, except for the Grand Final, will be Bo3. The champion of The Lima Major 2023 will be determined based on the results of the Bo5 series.

Prize distribution
In total, teams will compete for a prize pool of $500,000 and 1,900 DPC points. Prizes will be given to participants who are in the top 8 of the championship.
The distribution of awards is shown below:
- 1st Place - $200,000 - 400 DPC points
- 2nd Place - $100,000 - 350 DPC points
- 3rd Place - $75,000 - 300 DPC points
- 4th place - $50,000 - 250 DPC points
- 5th-6th place - $25,000 - 200 DPC points
- 7th-8th place - $12,500 - 100 DPC points
